Just beginning to relax about Fattycat's jaw after almost a month with no problems. Came back from the Easter vigil to find her with her mouth open again. Took her straight to the veterinary hospital that treated Snorg. They are going to x Ray her and if it's dislocated wire her jaw if it's fractured fix it. She needs to have it permanently fixed. This can't keep happening. Supposed to be going away overnight tomorrow. Sad

Well that's partial good news. If only you knew how it had happened?

What did they say - if anything - about her food?

HemanOrSheRa · 20/04/2017 18:32

I suppose that is good news Toddler. I guess it means there is not a general weakness there possibly due to her face shape? That would have been my worry. She must be doing something to dislocate it, do you think?

Toddlerteaplease · 20/04/2017 18:37

I think she's done it yawning. She has a mouth like the Mersey tunnel at times. They've said she can go back on to dry food (thank God) as it will make no difference as eating shouldn't cause it. She just wasn't eating enough of the wet food. And last time was much happier when back on it. The vet had a good prod and she didn't seem in pain. Although it's not a clear answer I'm glad that at least I know there is no underlying problem. Hopefully these few months have just been a blip for both of them. Think they must have wanted to test me!

He he! Does she? That is made me laugh! They both look so dainty and ladylike. I hope this is the end of a bad run for you Toddler Smile.

Toddlerteaplease · 20/04/2017 20:35

When she yawns she looks like her head will fall off!z she's dainty. Snorg walks round the house like a heard of elephants. Dainty she is not!! Fingers crossed it's over my nerves won't take anymore stress!

Snorg and Fatty are such delicious, squishy and floofy girls. I hope you have a 'good' night shift my dear! Smile

Toddlerteaplease · 20/04/2017 20:57

Thankyou. I think they are but my Colleagues think they are ugly and one of them has nicknamed fatty 'Luicfer' think it suits her really! There was the most beautiful British shorthair at the vets. Hope he got on ok. I wanted to keep him!

Your girls are most definitely not ugly. I hope your colleagues are joshing with you. Your girls are beautiful Smile.

Toddlerteaplease · 21/04/2017 00:29

Had one of the best cuddles with her that I've ever had. (She's not a cuddley cat) she laid in my arms all the time I was talking to the vet. It was lovely.

They're lovely. Smile

HemanOrSheRa · 21/04/2017 00:59

Well that is ridiculous. They are beautiful .

Weedsnseeds1 · 21/04/2017 07:00

They're black and fluffy and squishy, how can they be ugly?!

cozietoesie · 21/04/2017 15:30

How did the lass get on with your Dad looking after her? Smile

Toddlerteaplease · 21/04/2017 16:30

They were both fine. Although he can't tell them apart!

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 21/04/2017 16:49

I'm only surprised that you can! (In the dark or half-light, anyway. Grin)

Toddlerteaplease · 21/04/2017 17:06

I can now only because Snorg is still growing back her hair but can't tell them apart if I leave their camera on when I'm at work!

Do vets put something over cat's eyes when they are asleep? To stop them drying out. Her eyes look like they've had ointment pit on them and her fur feels greasy.

I don't know on that one - although putting something on eyes makes sense. Maybe one of the vets who post can comment?
