My little cat is awol

I know it's that time of year when she may well be stuck in a shed or perhaps she's just decided to do the off for a few days but I am very sad Sad

she hasn't been seen by us or the neighbours since Wednesday so posters printed and planning on knocking on all neighbours tomorrow.

DC are sad too and I can't bear the thought of her not coming home Sad She is our first family pet and she's been with us, happily I thought, since November.

I miss her so much

Cats can often go off and come home after a few days. Mine went off for over a week and returned none the worse. I hope your DPC (dear puss cat) comes home soon.

Is she chipped? Have you phoned round local vets?

She is chipped so am hoping that means I would've heard if she'd been taken in. And everyone I know says their cats have done it - hell, I was reassuring a colleague only two weeks ago because his cat disappeared for about a week. ..

just feels very lonely without her (she was in every night and I got used to the little dead weight at the bottom of the bed Sad)

Don't give up, lots of cats on here go AWOL in the warm weather, we can't compete with a nest full of mice.

Thanks Fluffy- just been postering the neighbourhood and the local pub landlord said he saw a tabby out the front of his pub a couple of days ago. whether it was her remains to be seen but it has made me feel a bit better Smile

There's so much going on out there at the moment that it can encourage even the most staid of cats to go walkabout. If you're due any rain next week, that will help her make up her mind to come back.

I have laying on my sofa my boy who decided to come home last sunday after a two year jolly Hmm
My Lucy cat has been on her latest jolly for two weeks, longest was almost a month.
I do look after them honestly, I have another who never goes anywhere lazy

I hope she comes back soon. The posters are a good idea, I always check them when I see them.

Localeditor - two years!! Did he come home under his own steam or was it as the result of his chip?

Well, he came up to me during the week before outside the local shop, I thought it was a girl so didn't give it anymore thought until last weekend he was sitting with my 13 yr old son in the field up our road, turns out I cannot tell the different between a neutered male and a female Confused I am stupid really as the cat had the same damaged ear mine had and I still didn't twig it was him. His personality has not changed at all. Today is his first day of being let outside and he hasn't gone further than the front garden and is coming back in for food.

I hope she comes back. Mine went missing for 2 days earlier this year. Have you been out rattling the biscuits and calling her?

I found mine under someone's car on their drive. She was too scared to come out on her own.

Biscuits well and truly rattled - and two small DC yelling which I don't know if it's a help or a hindrance really Wink

and Two Years! I really hope she doesn't take that long to come back home - but at least he did in the end!!

I'd be tempted to restrict the DCs from yelling if you can. Cats seem to prefer peace and quiet on the whole.

They're with their dad now for the next week so they've done their bit and felt useful but hopefully with just me around for a while, she will come home!

Funny - never thought of myself as a cat person but can't imagine not having her around now... Come home Tiga

It's an awful waiting game isn't it? I hope she comes home very soon and puts your mind at rest!

Mine went missing for three long days. I put posters through all the neighbours' doors to check their sheds etc. He came home slimmer and very hungry and thirsty. He must have been shut in somewhere. Then I went round with new posters to tell the neighbours he'd been found! I got a call off one of them to say how glad she was to hear it Grin lots of cat lovers around here.

We adopted a rescue cat 4 months ago and he's had us living on our nerves these past few weeks. He started off never leaving the house for the first 2 weeks but as he's grown in confidence he's been off for increasingly long periods of time. Currently he's spending about 50% of his time at home and the rest goodness knows where. It's scary when it's not their usual habit (or you don't know what their usual habit is!) Ours turned up just now yelling for Wiskas after last being seen 24hrs ago, fingers crossed yours does too.

There are some lovely cat people around - just from walking the streets bunging up posters - so many kind words and tales of similar! On the whole, it's a lovely world out there Smile

Fingers crossed, I hope she comes back ok. Mine went missing for nearly 3 days earlier this year, it was such an awful time, I cried a lot & spent most of the rest of the time on MN being reassured by everyone that he would come back !

My DH went out after dark & had a stroll around with a box of biscuits, he made the acquaintance of a lot of the local cats & foxes Smile but he thought as it was quieter our cat might be more likely to hear him & come out. We were also asking the postman/milkman to keep an eye out & the 2 local vets put him in their "lost" book as well. I spent an evening delivering posters & crying, obviously he turned up in the early hours of the next morning, little horror.

Just waiting for the vets to phone back as someone saw my poster and called to say they'd taken a cat matching my little one to the vets on wednesday, the day she disappeared.

It had been hit by a card was dead Sad I am dreading the call but also really want to know Sad Sad
