What is your cat called?

Just being nosy really and looking for inspiration

Does the name you've chosen suit him/her because of looks/personality or is it so inappropriate as to be ironic?

Also, does anyone give their pedigree cat a ridiculous moniker (a la Crufts), then a 'normal' nickname or is that just for dogs?

Our 4 yr old boy id called Pilchard named by DS who was a huge Bob the Builder fan when he was little.

He was named Psycho when we got him a eight months old and it suited him then until we tamed him and there was no way I was shouting that out the back door.

Aggie (short for Agapi which means "darling" in Greek) - black and white coat, very timid 7 year old female. And Keith - tabby and white 8 month old male (obviously!) friendly, confident "proper" cat (as dh says). I named Aggie, with the blessing of our dds. DH named Keith ... the dds weren't so keen on the name, but they got to choose the kitten so ...

Current inhabitants are Casper, Bob (or Bobbly Wobbles because he is a bit porky), Jasper (inherited) & our kitten is Muffin. She was named by my two sons who wanted to be able to shout Muff in the back garden! Grin

My now departed cats were called Soxy, Rafferty, Ruskin & McLeod.

My cat came from the rescue with the name Dar, but it just find suit him. My youngest sister has Down Syndrome and a terrible heart condition , and last year when I adopted him she wasn't doing well (she's much better now though). Anyway, she's always asked to name my cats and I've always said no because she comes up with names I don't like. So this time I asked her to name my new cat.

She named him Ringo Starr. She loves the Beatles with a passion. So now I have a mammoth long-haired pure white cat named Ringo. I mostly call him Big Boy, though.

This is also the sister that insisted on dressing as Frodo Baggins in my wedding to be the "bearer of the rings". She's a very interesting person Wink

I have a Daisy (obv female) and a Jenson (male)

Daisy has just had kittens (see other thread), I'm keeping the only female and have named her Lillie.

Strangely enough, the prospective new owners of two of the boy kittens have both named them Milo
Neither person knows each other and hadn't heard the other kitten being named etc!

Duke - because he always was very duke-like, even when little. Now he's 15 years, it really, really suits him.
The Stig - because he is very fast and can not meow!? He doesn't make a sound... Opens his mouth, makes the movement but no noise at all comes out. So, like The Stig he is fast and silent.
Mary and Martha - because we rescued them, they were dying from cat flu so we went Biblical! They got meds from vet, slept on hot water bottles for weeks and today, 2 years later they are fit as fiddles if super tiny, kitten size and never going to grow any bigger :)

We've had a Cat and a Littl'un, one big black cat and one small one.

Then we had Tinker (tortie) and Sealey (grey) who were sisters.

Now we've got Roffy (black) which is the middle of bugger off you which my Dad used to say when she was climbing his legs as a kitten.
Cilfy (tortie) who is grumpy and doesn't spend much time at home.
George (ginger & white) was aked to look after him for a day, turned out he'd been shot with an air rifle so we kept him. He's the only boy cat we've ever had.
Sybil (grey) is a slightly mental grey cat who nearly drowned in a water butt.
Tootsie (tortie) and Tabitha (fluffy tabby) are sisters.

My blond cat is called Balanchine; black cat is Nijinsky. They often get called abbreviations of those names & my Jinpuss not infrequently gets referred to as Ninja-insky because he does a good line in stealth. Balanchine is sometimes Ballonchat because he has such incredible elevation & I'm a sucker for a good polylingual pun.

Daisy The Cat.

Always with the 'The Cat' bit. DHs fault. And I always ask him if it's to distinguish her from Daisy The Velociraptor and Daisy the Albatross. That we don't have.
