This morning she was coughing and has also had a sloppy bowel accident outside. She wasn't interested in breakfast even though I didn't come down until after 9 and she wasn't about when DH left at 7. He normally feeds her before he goes. I had to put the plate under her nose to get her to come and ear.

Her back legs are a bit wobbly and I will take her for a jab on Monday to hopefully get some relief. She didn't wee over night so that is postiive but when I was comforting her when she was coughing it really hit me that she is very old and isn't my baby anymore Sad.

She has lasted for DD's birthday but I am not sure she will make her own Sad.

I have just put a towel on the sofa for her to sit on, just in case, but she wasn't impressed and has jumped down on to the floor.

My cat is getting to the end of her life and I am not sure I will ever get over it Blush.

She means the world to me, is the only thing in the world that is 100% mine, and I will miss her so much.

Great to hear that she's rallying.Smile

(What meal do you have planned for her, for her birthday?)

JustFabulous · 22/08/2012 09:58

Desperate for balloons but she is scared of them. Still might get helium ones that are up out of her way

Lately she has enjoyed tuna, tinned custart and home made strawberry ice cream Grin.

Atta girl FABcat!! Grin

OLimpPickMeddles · 22/08/2012 10:01

Glad FABcat is still a cat with attitude - and that she's enjoying a varied diet!

ipswichwitch · 22/08/2012 10:16

or should that be "cattitude" OLimpPickMeddles?

glad FABcat is getting spoiled and enjoying her treats - our little witchcat was treated like a prince towards the end - lots of cheese, tuna and memorably a king prawn once! we lost him 4 years ago to renal failure and i miss him. he truly was an awesome, if somewhat dim but hugely lovable cat. i had harsh words with anyone who tried to tell me "its only a cat"
we still have big witchcat, still going strong at 12 - we joke that shes far too lazy to die, but we'll be devastated when she does go.

JustFabulous · 22/08/2012 10:22

We joke that FABCat heard DH say he would like a dog and she is going to live forever so he can't have one Grin.

OopsCat is rallying now he's on thyroid meds, he has gained weight and looks more like his old self. We are spoiling him shamelessly and he is having a bit of our dinner every night - he likes gravy, and bolognese, but wasn't keen on curry! Grin

OLimpPickMeddles · 22/08/2012 16:18

Wine to cattitude!

JustFabulous · 22/08/2012 17:01

Hurray for OopsCat.

FABCat would like to invite OopsCat and all the lovely cats mentioned on here to her 18th a week on Friday well she would if she knew I was planning a party for her Grin

We will stick our tongues out at the posters who said weeks ago it sounded like she was at the end and all of us will raise a glass to this wonderful cat who has been my most lovely lovely amazing fluffy naughty friend for almost 18 years.

Woohoo for virtual kittyparty!

Littlebluetoo · 23/08/2012 20:19

A cat party!! My DD always insists on baking a cake for our cat's B-days, with candles of course, and then has a photo taken with the usually sightly alarmed looking feline and cake! Cats and candles, not a good mix...
I used to have a cat that liked onion rings...

JustFabulous · 23/08/2012 20:25

I am beyond excited with what I am doing for FABCat.

I was always going to make a cake for the kids to eat while FABCat had prawns but I am getting a photo cake done with her on it and I am not telling the kids. It is going to be amazing!!

DH brought fish and chips for our tea. FABCat thought she was included in that. She sat right next to me, really close, then shuffled in a bit more AND PUT HER PAW ON MY LAP TRAY Shock. Obviously I gave her some fish but she just wanted more and more and more and more. DH took my plate away when I had had enough and has put a cover over it. FABCat sat on the floor looking longingly up at the counter.

I thought she was ill!!!!

I might cancel her party Grin.

Sad

Why is it all such a roller coaster?

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 25/08/2012 08:50

Not good this morning?

Sad
JustFabulous · 25/08/2012 11:37

She left us a puddle all over the floor. Can't remember the last time she did it but she had her last job Monday just gone and can't have another until 3 weeks on Tuesday.

She just tried to jump up onto the sofa and slipped back Sad. She looked scared SadSad. She let me lift her up and is now curled up, washing her tail.

JustFabulous · 25/08/2012 11:39

On a happier note, she did play for a bit this morning Smile.

Oh Dear. Is it steroids the vet's been giving her as a booster?

JustFabulous · 25/08/2012 12:13

She has been having cartrofan. I don't know if that is a steroid though. I think it is an anti inflammotary and to help her legs but also the weeing innapropriately. It worries me that she hasn't weed since jab 2/3 but has now.

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 25/08/2012 12:36

I've never used it on any of mine but yes - it seems to be for osteoarthritis etc and also helps for cystitis.

She'll be enjoying all the love and cuddles as usual though.Smile

JustFabulous · 25/08/2012 12:48

6 days until she is 18!!! Shock

OP posts:
JustFabulous · 25/08/2012 17:08

FABCat is in trouble. She got under my feet and I stood on her tail. She miaowed, I screeched (sprained foot, worried I had hurt her). DH put her away in her room. Me, being too soft Mummy let her out and DS1 has just caught her on the table hunting for any spilt fish from the kids tea. She wants to hang around the 11 year old's place. He makes more mess than anyone I know.

cozietoesie · 25/08/2012 17:15

That's called taking the mickey!

Mine has clocked the fact that I really really want him to eat breakfast and tea take his meds and - while deigning to eat his food - has managed to up the ante from Whiskas pouches to Gourmet and Sheba pouches. I catch him looking at me very knowingly sometimes.

Grin
JustFabulous · 25/08/2012 17:25

Yep. FABCat is on the gourmet range too now.
