Can we have a competitive cat stupidity thread?

It has taken one of mine 4.5 years to work out the house has an upstairs. She used to sit at the bottom of the stairs looking upwards sometimes with a curious look on her face, but she lacked the brains to work out how to climb the stairs. She'd watch the other cat stroll past her and just seem bewildered.

Anyway - suddenly she's mastered the skill and it's like she has a whole new playground. She is one happy cat.

Are there stupider cats out there?

Can't find the thread that had the weird things cats had brought in but I have a contender...

Small rat, still attached to a mouse trap - neighbour said it took him ages to drag it across the car park to present his gift to us Blush

One day, many years ago, we had a young cat. And then we got some new wardrobes with mirrored doors.

Young cat bounded into the bedroom and screeched to a halt, horrified to see another young cat staring back at her from the wardrobes.

She fluffed up, the other cat fluffed up, she fluffed a bit more, so did the other cat. Not to be outdone, she yowled, the other cat yowled straight back.

XH and I were peeing ourselves laughing watching her. Suddenly she caught sight of XH in the mirror - she turned and looked at him, looked back at the mirror, turned and looked at him again and finally, with the clang of a 10 tonne weight, realised that she'd been staring at her reflection.

Cue one very embarrassed little cat but bloody hell she was blond!!!

Mind you, she also used to sleep under the covers and one night she was sick on XH's bottom. I loved that cat! Grin

My very large, very beautiful and very thick Maine Coon boy fell off the bed last night. He hung on as he fell and has ripped a large hole in a brand new sheet with his claws. Grr.
