What should we named this little guy?

We’ve just adopted this little guy…he’s smaller than he looks here and only about 6 months. His last home was calling him Pocket but he’d just had that name for a month or so and doesn’t seem too attached to it. And we don’t like it 🤣

What does he look like to you?

Love the name winston - I think whatever you decide, you need to call it out a few times and also see what it shortens too as you’ll inevitably find playful ways to shout them like ‘Winnie’ ‘win’!

As he’s a beautiful Beagle, renowned for their sometimes selective hearing, you need to make sure you can shout the name over and over with increasing frustration as he heads most of a field away on his important Beagley business… so I’d personally rule out Basil for the sake of sounding like Sybil from Fawlty Towers!

I think he seems like a Rufus (Hound) or if your DD likes Winston I’d suggest Wilson (we are big Friday Night Dinner fans). Or he’s an Elvis or Presley (those eyes, and he ain’t nothing but a hound dog).

If he is Pocket then he could be Master Herbert Pocket - Bert for short.

As a former beagle owner I would say 'Leave that alone you little bugger' or 'Nooooooo!' as those were the words we used a lot.

Bert would become Bert..Bert..BERT...FFS...BEEEERRRTTTT
