A Weinmerer (spelling?!). Beautiful dogs.

drivinmecrazy · 28/07/2023 14:18

Yes he's a Weimaraner. Beautiful looking but SO SO high maintenance 😂

Chihowhow · 28/07/2023 16:48

Thank you all for your brilliant replies. I am feeling more relaxed today. We have dropped my older daughter off at work and we are staying for some food, so Chipup is having some crated time at home. We are also going to a kids cinema screening in the morning, so that will be another 3 hours where we are not home. I worry about her so much!! I’m sure I don’t worry about the kids this much!!

Orangebadger · 28/07/2023 16:51

@drivinmecrazy beautiful! And love the name.

Another little Weimaraptor, sorry Weimaraner 😂🤣 Florapup trying out her new bed in my sewing room.

Here’s Whippypup being unimpressed with hi vis, relatively slip proof harness.
Ive returned it. I think something smaller will be better.
DD is worried about not being able to see her in bushes/dusk.

We've had a new bed this week, this one is going to live at the allotment. A middle of lidl special

Such gorgeous pups. What a group we (they) are 😀

Gizlotsmum · 29/07/2023 06:51

So Gizlotspup finally seems to be getting over whatever he ate! He is now moaning because he is hungry but we are giving him small meals ( no rice as he throws that up!). I can’t work out if he has separation anxiety or just fomo. As I can leave the room/ leave him home in the mornings when he is tired ( he will bark and whine for a bit but then settle) but not in the afternoons and sometimes I can’t make it to the top of the stairs before he barks!!

Find a Perfect Fit stockist. FluffyPup seems happy with his.

He's 10 months a week on Monday. 🐕 The harness picture is the first time we used the waist lead!

How much was this? I need something for the allotment. Not sure he'd rest there though. Too many smells!

tizwozliz · 29/07/2023 14:07

Bed was £20 @NoWordForFluffy

I normally take chews to the allotment so the idea is they can rest on the bed with a chew...

WhippyLongStocking · 29/07/2023 14:43

Gizlotsmum glad he’s picked up. It’s always a worry isn’t it as they aren’t very good at describing symptoms!

NoWordForFluffy I will check out perfect fit. Thank you.

that is a great bed.

tizwozliz · 29/07/2023 16:53

We had some settling, but also some mad zoomies. Pup had a busy morning mantrailing, thought that might help with the settling but think we got overtired pup instead.

Puppy survival thread part 2
ScoobyDoesnt · 29/07/2023 18:45

Can I join the thread for some support and sanity please?!

I have a 2.5 year old sprocker who is a dream DDog. Yes, puppyhood was a bit of a challenge, but she’s become a well trained, happy, affectionate (no personal space at all with a spaniel!) dog.

Clever me decided she needed a sister. DPuppy is an 11 week springer, and an absolute cutey. They get on well, with a bit of play fighting, the toilet training is going really well, probably 95% there now (no accidents so far today….), she reacts to her name, sits, comes in from the garden when I call, and we’ve just started walks post jabs, where she’s responding really well to lead training.

Sleeping during the day is no issue, she’ll typically sleep on DDogs bed with her, or on the door mat, occasionally in her crate (door open), to be honest wherever she feels comfy, and she sleeps well. In the day.

Night though - god help me! She goes in her crate with the door closed at 10pm, no issue, straight to sleep. DDog is close by on her own bed. But she is waking every night 2-4am and really does need the garden - generally wees and often poos. Then despite being dark still, she won’t settle back in her crate at all. I’ve sat for an hour with her, in the dark, not talking to her, and she falls asleep but no sooner as I’m out the kitchen and half way up the stairs she howls again. DDog has always slept in the kitchen, with no issue.

So for the last week, I’ve resorted (sleep deprivation is so real, and I’ve got now young adult DC so know what it was like!) to taking them both back to bed with me. They then both sleep until at least 730! DDog thinks it’s Christmas coming and sleeping with me.

Have I now made a rod for my own back?! Any hints to break this and just getting her sleeping longer? She’s gaining weight really well, eats well, etc.

Pic included for puppy tax (I know the rules!)

I'd love to advise but first dog ended up permanently in our bed at 5 months and puppy (16 weeks) is now there too!!

@ScoobyDoesnt Lovely babes. I can’t advise on your question unfortunately, as all three of mine (two adult Toy Poodles and a 14-week Weimaraner) sleep with us (king sized bed).

BigBundleOfFluff · 29/07/2023 23:21

Lovely pics! We have the same bed. Fluff pup turned her nose up at it after the initial day of excitement so if anyone is near Scotland, it's yours.
That being said we are currently on the Irish Sea. So far Fluffpup had been a dream....

tizwozliz · 31/07/2023 11:11

Hope everyone is doing ok. All good here apart from the weather. Thoroughly sick of rain nearly everyday. I got a summer pup for a reason!

pookiedoodlepuppy · 05/05/2023 16:26

I'm here , haven't had much to complain about really , little Lab puppy sleeping from 10pm 'til 6am now and toilet training going well only three accidents to date , and she is eleven weeks . Starts training classes on Tuesday so 🤞🏻 it all goes well . Have to start checking in more .

@pookiedoodlepuppy

pookie - I’m looking for a bear like that - can I ask where it’s from please?

Gorgeous pup!

pookiedoodlepuppy · 01/08/2023 08:11

@HeritageBlooms Oh that teddy is about twenty yrs old . It was a valentine present from the Husband . Now the dog has it , she hasn't torn it up yet unlike the other furry toys that need lots of surgery .
Apparently it was from Sainsbury's

WhippyLongStocking · 01/08/2023 08:32

We’ve been sleeping next to Whippypup’s crate but last night tried to fade out the support, coming back and forth. She did moan a bit but then settled and slept from 1.30-7 and seems happier this morning if anything.

I had a restless night worried that I will be giving her separation anxiety both by sleeping next to her and by sleeping upstairs and thinking which whippet rescue I would contact when I’d totally failed and accepted I’m bad at this!

She's 10 months old today but has only been here 10 days.

Thank you so much @pookiedoodlepuppy I don’t suppose there is a legible label still on it?
