I call my dog Little One sometimes, he weighs 40kg, so is not a little one by any stretch. He also gets called Baby Dog, and Sweetie Pie.

Is he a spoiled baby substitute? Yes. Do I care? Not in the least. Is he a guarding breed that looks like he would tear you limb from limb? Yes. Is he mummy's best boy. Absolutely, and he is soft as butter whilst still being a visual and auditory burglar deterrent.

I call my 500kg horse ‘little one’ so I see no problem with using it for any kind of dog. 😁

@Squirrel26 Our dog is frequently called “Baby,” “The Baby,” and sometimes wrapped in a blanket and rocked by the children…he lets them get on with it and tries to lick them.

He’s only about 7.5kg though so could be a convincing baby, except personality-wise, he’s an alpha male, king of all he surveys. 🤣
