@PugInTheHouse ah so cute - little and large!

Aria20 · 09/04/2022 19:25

@LadyCatStark think you are being crazy wanting another haha! Does your DH want another?!

tizwozliz · 09/04/2022 20:01

Pup has been a nightmare every evening for the past week - I'm definitely not wanting another, I'm not sure I want this one right now!!

@Aria20 he says not a bloody chance 😂. I did overhear him telling Billy how much he loved him the other week though, so I know the truth now 😂.

Aria20 · 09/04/2022 20:49

@LadyCatStark wow that's good progress mine would still happily lose ours in the woods!

@tizwozliz we had a horrendous week last week with demand barking and I felt like screaming and giving her away too. Shes been a bit less barky this week but it's required a lot more effort on my part to constantly be on guard

GuyFawkesDay · 09/04/2022 22:26

Some days I too could drop the little oik off at the dogs trust home near us!!

Then he's a little legend and I love him all over again

PugInTheHouse · 10/04/2022 07:57

Had a great 2nd night with wolfpup. Bed at 10, wee at 3 then up at 640 for wee/poo.

Pugpup was grumpy with him this morning, the mornings are very snoozy times for him and wolfpup wants to play. Pugpup was trying to get onto the sofa to have a cuddle with me and wolfpup accidentally knocked him and got a telling off. Obv I don't leave them alone together and pugpup isn't aggressive at all but it's new to him I guess and maybe he's realised pup is actually staying Grin

Overall its been good though, they play quite well although get a bit overexcited at times.

Wolfpup has his first training session today, will be interesting to see what he can learn at this age. He seems quite good at learning already, he already knows what outside means and also 'wee'. When I call his name he comes but I think that is more that he is coming to my voice rather than his name. He has been called his name since he was about 4 weeks old I think so it's a possibility. Will be fun getting started.

He won't sleep in a bed, slept in our room on the floor in front of the door which is a bit odd.

Aria20 · 10/04/2022 08:57

@PugInTheHouse ah bless yea I bet your pug was happy to have a playmate and now thinking hey why is this big dog still in my home?!

PugInTheHouse · 10/04/2022 09:55

@Aria20 yes it must be so confusing. They have been good this morning, playing really nicely 99% if the time so hopefully all ok

certainshepherdpups · 10/04/2022 17:39

@PugInTheHouse so cute! I'm glad the pups are getting along well.

I had been feeling very proud of my pup. He's now 10 months old and has been doing so well. We have a couple of things to work on but all in all he's been super. Well, you know they say that pride goeth before a fall? This morning while I was in the shower the pup chewed the covers and several pages of three books. I thought we had avoided destructive chewing but evidently not.

Aria20 · 10/04/2022 18:51

@certainshepherdpups oh no! Mine has started marking - even though she's been housetrained for months and never done it before and been spayed.... last night she ran into my son's room jumped on his new bed and marked! FFS brand new mattress, duvet and covers etc. no idea why she's started this since being spayed but she's now doing several little wees on every walk marking her scent around!

tizwozliz · 10/04/2022 19:00

We're in bed with pup watching TV as it seems to be the only place she'll settle down in the evening these days Confused

Aria20 · 10/04/2022 19:17

@tizwozliz what is she doing?

tizwozliz · 10/04/2022 19:29

Humping cushions mainly, and just wound up, panting etc. Barking if we restrict access to the cushions, dragging her bed outside.

It's been a week now of this behaviour in the evenings, but she generally is asleep in minutes if we take her up to bed. We never really had a witching hour when she was younger so this is a shock to the system.

Aria20 · 10/04/2022 19:32

Funny behaviour we've had attention barking, pacing around and now marking! Luckily the only indoors marking so far has been the incident on ds's bed the others are all outside at least. Tonight she's barked as next door have got a new patio umbrella and it's near our fence and she's taken a dislike to it Grin

tizwozliz · 10/04/2022 19:42

I used a drill and a hammer today, both of which were zoomie inducing!

I'm hoping it's a combination of tiredness and hormones. We're 8 weeks post season so don't know if there's some lingering effect there. Today I've been gardening and she's not really slept at all as too interested in what's going on.

She's been a star mostly when we're out and about, just saving all the bad behaviour for home - I guess that's a good thing really.

Looks cute. Ran off in the park to play with other people's kids and WOULD NOT come back. Proper embarrassing. Little sod.

Long line again from tomorrow....went back to off lead too soon 🫣

Going slightly stir crazy at home, pup had got so used to nice walks off lead and being out and about so stuck at home is not going well!! He’s coughing perhaps 4 times a day but other than that totally fine - I’m relieved obviously but cannot wait to get out!

ABitBesottedWithMyDog · 11/04/2022 10:29

That husky pup is gorgeous.

OrlandointheWilderness · 11/04/2022 13:12

Gary is coming along well, he isn't on soaked food anymore and poop has firmed up to normal dog log as opposed to mousse! 😂 stealing socks at a rate of knots and getting the hang of not eating the people. He's just a joy bless him! No piles last night and toilet training has been gold standard for the last few days.
He is booked in for a gentle assessment with our trainer on the 25th.

PugInTheHouse · 11/04/2022 14:42

@ABitBesottedWithMyDog he's so cute just a complete fluffball. He is an alaskan malamute/czechoslovakian wolfdog so potentially will be a very big boy!

He's really well behaved, pugpup is OK with him but definitely puts him in his place regularly!

Training went well, he is good at sit, lay down and is learning leave it. I am still trying to navigate the healthy play and spot signs when it's not OK.

God the pair of them are precious together

TheBigMacDougal · 11/04/2022 16:15

@GuyFawkesDay how gorgeous is Fawkes pup! He looks very grown up all of a sudden. Mac pup hasn’t got much adult feathering yet and still a skinny long neck 😂

Lost our long line when he took himself in the bushes and got stuck at the weekend. New one has arrived and is longer and day glow yellow. I doubt he will be off it until he’s no longer a teenage arsehole 🤦🏼‍♀️

He isn’t humping us or anything at home, but has started on his friends and my mum and dads (spayed, thank god!) dog.

GuyFawkesDay · 11/04/2022 18:18

@TheBigMacDougal our longline is dayglo yellow too.

It's like we've had 1 week of nice dog so now we get TwatDog again. Ugh.

certainshepherdpups · 11/04/2022 18:27

@Aria20 sorry to hear about the marking. Do you think it's related to being spayed?

I have a new issue with my pup. He has always been eager to eat his kibble and would wolf it down in minutes. But in the past couple of weeks he has been eating just a bit and leaving most of it in the morning. Then he will eat a bit more in the evening. He doesn't seem ill at all, is happy to accept treats, etc. Maybe his growth has slowed down so he naturally needs to eat far less than before? Or maybe I should look into a different food that would tempt his appetite. I never expected to have this issue with him, I've always said he has a far from discriminating palate!
