Carrying bag full of poo

Any better ways to carry a full poo bag? Found some bum bag type things on amazon but the thought of stuffing a full bag in there doesn't fill me with joy.
We walk quite far some days and I end up carrying a bag most of the walk due to lack of bins. There must be a better way!

Double bag and live with it (my strategy) or maybe try this: www.dickybag.com/ ?

Tobleroney · 02/01/2022 22:04

My lead has got a ring hanging off the handle. supposed to be for a little bag of treats, but I hang the dog bag off it. There jt dangles without making contact with me or the lead It's not great, but it means I'm not carrying it & have a hand free!

buckeejit · 02/01/2022 22:05

A S hook & hang it on the lead

LeQuern · 02/01/2022 22:05

Got a ball thrower? My girl usually goes at the end of her walk - I put the bag over the end of the thrower till I get to a bin.

GuyFawkesDay · 02/01/2022 22:13

I have one of these on the lead/on my walking bag, hands free poop bag carrying!

bagged then placed into a zip lock bag and then an old lunchbag so we clip that onto the outside of the day pack pack and then it gets emptied in the first available bin and we have 2 of the four legged shit machines to carry for!

Wafflesnsniffles · 02/01/2022 22:22

These look great - not cheap though

I don't like the idea of it hanging from a hook on the lead. What if I slip or the dog bashes into it? 🤢
If it's a long walk I take a small rucksack with an empty lidded tub in. It's an old round icecream tub. Bag o' shite goes in there. Try not to forget to unpack rucksack.

fairylightsandwaxmelts · 02/01/2022 22:30

Dicky bag.

Or double bag it and pop it in your pocket which is what I do 99% of the time.

nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut · 02/01/2022 22:32

I leave it bagged up out of sight under a bush and pick it up on the way back. Not a popular thing to say in here but meh. If they don't want people doing it, install some damn bins.

Serenschintte · 02/01/2022 22:35

A friend bought a mini clutch from a charity shop and kept the pops in bags in the clutch. Once she had it stolen in a park. I expect the thief was quite disappointed with the contents Grin

I do this, and got shamed by another dog owner because apparently it's not fair on the dog to have poo so near it! I pointed out through gritted teeth that dogs will roll in and eat shit and all kinds of unspeakable stuff so that it would probably cope...🙄

My sister got mugged years ago and the thief nabbed her bag full of dog poo (two large dogs who did not protect her at all!) Grin

Remembering, of course, to use biodegradable bags, otherwise it’s a lot of plastic and dogs already have a high carbon paw print.

Jinglebellsoncake · 02/01/2022 22:49

Could you bag it (in a biodegradable bag) then place it somewhere that definitely won't get trodden on? (Which will break down naturally like all other animal waste.)

Obviously this will depend on what kinds of places you dog walk. (Definitely not appropriate in a park. But in a large woodland it might be?)

Cabbagepie · 02/01/2022 23:02

I use a dicky bag for our two dogs. Not the cheapest but have been using it for over 4 years now so good value

Ariela · 02/01/2022 23:08

Oh you should just do what the dog walkers round here here do. Pop it in the nearest recycling bin you can see from the road, ideally on bin day! Works a treat (and means the bin men don't empty our recycling, and I have to do a detour to the doggie bin)

Yeah, this.
Ylvamoon · 03/01/2022 06:59

Double bag. If its a public place/ park call the council dog warden/ animal control and ask for more bins. This worked for us a few years ago.

gerispringer · 03/01/2022 07:04

The dog walkers round here chuck it on my front lawn and leave it for me to pick up😫

MrsLargeEmbodied · 03/01/2022 07:07

i hung a poo bag on a tree with every intention of picking it up on the way back, no bins on walk - went back a different way, a picture of the bag made the local newspaper Blush
