Lost dog Kingston - have I done everything I can?

Much loved springer spaniel escaped from house unnoticed, as H put out bins 11.30ish, last night. We found her missing this morning. Leaving recriminations aside here. We live in very busy area near Norbiton station in Kingston and I am losing hope, as she is fast and could be anywhere (and I suppose could have been picked up by someone not inclined to help). She was not wearing her collar as she was in bed for the night, she is chipped.

So

  • I have told all local vets
  • battersea
  • microchip company
  • local police and dog warden
  • logged on LostDog website, they have put on facebook
  • made posters, local shops and lampposts, with reward offered
-about to go for walk in Richmond Park, our usual haunt (2 miles from house tho) and will accost all dog walkers
  • her regular dog walker has tweeted and put on another facebook page

There's nothing else we can do now is there ? Advice very gratefully appreciated.
Thanks

Really hoping you still get good news. And yes to local paper. Anything that increases awareness will help to make people realise she is being looked for and make them hand her over. If she is racing about then maybe someone will spot her and use her name so they can catch hold of her.
Really keeping it all crossed for you.

The paper is a good idea. Fingers crossed.

Oh Rhubarb, I'm so sorry there isn't any news. I've shared your FB post again. Obviously I'm relatively local, please PM me if there is anything I can do to help.

Wyldfyre · 29/04/2016 10:28

Rhubarb take heart all is not lost yet. Someone I know had her spaniel stolen. A month later she got it back because it had been sold on but the new owner noticed she wasn't reacting to her "name" (thieves had "changed" it). The man had bought her in good faith but came across priests online and realised she was stolen, so have her back.
Dog has since had pups so the real owner gave one to the man who bought their dog

Still thinking of you and hoping you find her x

iloverhubarbcrumble · 01/05/2016 09:18

I'm still here, thanks for all these good wishes, and to Hollinhurst for posting the link to the new facebook page. All shares etc really really appreciated. There is also a thunderclap.

Dreadful day yesterday as I think the reality of her being gone is hitting home. Bank holiday, great weather and no impetus to go to the park. Shut my eyes and see her face looking anxiously for us, if only.

But Thurs and Fri v active, set up the FB page despite being FB refusenik, I can hardly keep up with the messages. Good article in Surrey Comet (now on FB page), tho did not get into Kingston freebies which was my main aim. Now using #lookforlola, aiming to tweet @ local organisations especially press, other people started this. Also on the DogLost site and local SE FB for DogLost. If you use social media, anything you do for Lola appreciated. I think it's our only (small) hope now, that someone has her and will be put off by too much media.

I'm going to stop posting here now, it has been SO good to get this support especially in these first vital days. Also to know that some of you are local and looking. Will leave the thread as it's full of great tips. Thanks again, rhubarb

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 01/05/2016 12:36

I've shared your Facebook page too OP as I'm local and also have a spaniel who recently bolted during our house move and was caught by a very kind stranger!

I have friends who have had their dog returned after a few weeks so lots of hope yet Flowers

OVienna · 01/05/2016 16:41

There is a Facebook group called Beaters and pickers up. It could be Worth posting your link there too. Lots of spaniel owners. Maybe some tricks for you too?

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 09/05/2016 17:34

Hi. Hoping your dog has been found but just to say my dog was a will in the Berrylands area yesterday and ended up at Battersea Old Windsor rather than the London site. Got her back today.

Have you spoken to the Kingston dog warden? I have a mobile number if you need it.

ShmooBooMoo · 10/05/2016 00:44

Still no sign?
