Once I worked for a large, very prosperous financial institution. We had a For Sale/Wanted board for all the staff, about 4000 strong.

I saw a 'Free to a Good Home' notice.

A woman was giving away an 8-month-old fully-papered blue heeler dog.

Why?

It kept trying to herd her cats.

Honestly, the mind boggles.

My neighbours rehomed a dog because it was 'too protective of their ds'.... apparently training it not to growl at people who approached him didn't occur to them, much easier to remove the poor dog from the person he loved so much

Another neighbour rehomed a dog after 3 weeks as it was too much work.... two unemployed parents and five kids and the furthest they walked the dog was round the corner and back

Yep some woman dumped her JRT at the RSPCA Southridge because it didn't match the new cream curtains she bought.

My Dad's dog's get ticks. He went bought a nifty little tick remover. He later phoned me to deliver me him my fluff ball as he was certain he must have tick somewhere because he is so furry and I walk him in woods. He became rather obsessed with de-ticking things

Poor dog, though. Do we know if he now has a lovely home where someone has heard of vets and/or tick removers?

honestly i despair of this owner. she never keeps a dog past puppydom.

i thought ralph had a tick the other week. was just a very small matted bit of fur.

I love the tick twister thingy. But we use a bloody good flea and tick thingy. My 2 hooligans haven't had a tick in over a year and they love the wood walkies!!

i told her to get a decent flea and tick treatment to stop stuff like this.

My dogs match all of my house - coz they are dark sable.

I use a pair of medical tweezers for ticks.

misdee puppydom is the hardest part I think, its when they get past 2 (3,4,5) that they are much easier imho.

i find the adolsecent part the hardest. its like a 2nd puppyhood but they are bigger lol.

One of my dogs match my house. He is white and brown but rolls in things lots, so often looks cream. He is allowed to wander as much of the house is cream or toffee coloured.

The two hounds are black and white and as such are forced to live in the black and white kitchen and bathroom

Although I have to say big hound would probably enjoy being made to live the room where the food is kitchen, but is mainly banned from it.

I bought furniture to match my pets - less cleaning

My dog matches my house - he's nicely covered all the cream carpets in black fur so they coordinate.

As for ticks - shaggy dog came back from Scotland with 26 of the fucking blighters (and I ended up with one on me boob)... this is what happens you stupid woof when you shove your head down every fucking rabbit hole and bit of undergrowth you can find in persuit of the world's largest bunny rabbit.
