Chickens you need to buy a set of these very cheap and really easy to use.

Avantia · 31/10/2011 19:33

use this

My dog has had three this summer - first time I asked the vet nurse how to get it out - you have to get the tenticle things out otherwise they may cause infection.

Can get picked up by dog running , rolling on long grass.

My DH freaked when I pulled one off the dog and showed it to him Grin

Elibean · 31/10/2011 19:38

dh had a tick once.

Should I re-home him? [hhmm]

Actually.....[hsmile]

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 31/10/2011 19:39

Peaople get them? Human people?

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 31/10/2011 19:40

Not peaople, obviously. Because they don't exist.

foolserrand · 31/10/2011 19:41

We have one of our Rotties because, at 9 weeks old, the previous owners decided he was getting too big and got rid. He must have been a Christmas present. :(

We couldn't be happier they were so thick, he is the best dog in the world!

I think we've had some peaople round tonight, as a matter of fact, Chickens (it being Halloween and all) Grin

Yes, people get ticks. I remember my BF at school coming back from a holiday in Italy with her family, thinking she had a scab on her head - I looked for her, and it was a tick. All swollen and red (with blood). She freaked, but it came off with special shampoo from the chemist (and a fast ride at the funfair, IIRC).

DH, being somewhat hairy, probably got mistaken for a sheep...we were walking my then-doggy in some fields, on holiday in Wales. I was just grateful it was him and not me, tbh.

Though I've had worse than a tick. I've had a leech

Elibean · 31/10/2011 19:44

Avantia, that picture reminds me of dd, currently in the kitchen with her head buried (in her treat bag) Grin

Avantia · 31/10/2011 19:49

Sounds like my two DS aswell !

I have now managed to surgically remove the treat bags from them now Grin

Elibean · 31/10/2011 19:50

I think dd2's is glued to her face Smile
