here

i noticed the other thread had gone.

lennox family are waiting on the 2nd day of court on the 23rd to hear lennox' fate.

lennox is a American Bull dog Labrador cross. he was seized by the dog warden and sentenced to be destroyed by the way he looks. 'type'. he was deemed a pit bull type dog.

his brother, from the same litter, was classed as a labrador cross.

his fate lies with teh court, but there is a petition with over 86 000 signatures trying to save a dog from death based on how he looks.

I've heard nothing today. Poor buggers, they must be feeling sick to their stomachs as tomorrow approaches. :(

I really hope we get the right outcome tomorrow. Please let common sense prevail

Vallhala · 22/09/2011 20:47

OBWNB, the case is taking place in Belfast Magistrates Court so will be decided upon by a District Judge (they don't have JPs in Magistrates Court over in NI, I'm told).

stabbystabbykillkill · 22/09/2011 21:03

I am just hoping against hope that the full story comes out tomorrow in court Sad

MotherJack · 22/09/2011 21:54

I'm hoping that I am terribly wrong and that true justice will prevail.. but part of me thinks that even if there is an accusation of perjury, the Barnes are still only ever fighting the "pitbull type" accusation, which is where the DDA falls woefully short of common sense.

Today has not been a good day for a variety of reasons. Tomorrow will be truly as awful as the previous court dates have been. All my thoughts and good wishes will be with the Barnes family and hoping against hope that Lennox will be rightfully freed.

I'm ripping this from a friend's status update:

"Astounded that a 'civilised' country can go ahead and kill someone rather than admit that their legal system is infalible. In America a life is worth less than having doubt in the justice system. RIP Troy Davis"

In the desperation to not back down, they kill a man. To many people, Lennox is "just a dog" but the similarities are flaws in the legal system.

I have everything crossed.

"in my heart, i cant see Lennox coming home. I just hope to fucking all the gods i'm wrong!"

Exactly as I feel, GalaxyWeaver. :( Pray to whatever's up there that I'm wrong to.

As soon as those photos of Lennox with the DW were released he should have been allowed to go home as clearly he is not a "dangerous dog".

Sadly after all the publicity, I cant see Belfast City Council admitting they got it wrong.

What I dont get is how they can determine the temprement of a dog based on a set of measurements. Surely how the dog behaves is more of a measure of how aggressive it is.

I really hope the Barnes family get their beloved pet home. We are desperately trying to find a new home which will let us bring our dog (our current LL is selling up) as I cant imagine my childrens reaction if he had to be rehomed. They have told me they will leave friends and change schools if we need to leave the area but are adamant the dog has to stay.

Vallhala · 23/09/2011 10:29

Bless them, sb, I know how they feel. The chances are that my LL too will soon be selling up - and I have 3 large breed dogs. If I fail to find a new LL which will accept them I have 2 choices... put them in rescue and move on or stay in a small unheated caravan, with chemical loo and no hot water IN the rescue's grounds WITH my dogs and DD, giving up everything I own bar my clothes, bits and pieces inherited from my late Grandparents and my dogs.

No clues needed to know which choice I'd make. :)

SparklyCloud · 23/09/2011 12:05

Have just seen this now, I have put a thread with link to petition in chat.

SparklyCloud · 23/09/2011 12:09

Mother Jack totally agree and I like the way you have put that, it says exactly how it is. I thought that about the recent execution in America, and it is exactly the same with Lennox - no-one high up willing to differ from the rest of the sheep and say 'hang on, this is wrong'

coccyx · 23/09/2011 14:10

Watching this thread with interest. By the way there is a thread on chat for Lennox petition and another dog called Venus, if people wanted to sign it

MollyTheMole · 23/09/2011 14:14

Why was Vals post deleted? Confused

Vallhala · 23/09/2011 14:18

My post was presumably deleted because I called a certain city council frauds, liars and perjurers and invited them to sue me too, seeing that they're going to sue the Barnes' for saying the same.

Belfast City Council have announced that they're going to sue the Barnes' because of what has been alleged on the Save Lennox website. These allegations include that BCC have committed perjury, that they have lied and continue to do so and that they have harassed and intimidated the Barnes' family.

I fully support the Barnes family, their objectives, their morals and their viewpoints. Many, many, many folk do. I wonder if BCC would sue us all if we publicly stated all the things which the Barnes family have?

I hope so. It would bankrupt them.

The Save Lennox website was hacked and blocked to all users at around the same time as the announcement that the Barnes' are to be sued was made.

Make of that what you will.

Vallhala · 23/09/2011 14:25

The case has been going on since about 10.30am. BCCs expert witness has lodged a complaint with the judge because "all the court are looking at him", apparently.

Tosser.

MollyTheMole · 23/09/2011 14:26

oh right, so is that like me saying if I were a suspicious person then I might think that certain DW of a certain authority was a lying scumbag cunt ?

Good job Im not suspicious.

Oldbag - I think it was this morning but Im getting all my info on Twitter so may or may not be reliable. Its still going on from what I can see

Val - apparantly they are also going to sue over the savelennox website Confused

MollyTheMole · 23/09/2011 14:27

x posts - must type faster

Vallhala · 23/09/2011 14:29

Tosser is claiming that Caroline can't cope with Lennox owing to her not being able to walk properly.

So now people with disablilities can't own dogs?

Thats fucked a few thousand blind people then, hasn't it?

Well obviously the 'expert' (who is now also a medical expert it would seem Confused) has seen her walk Lennox and how much she struggled, oh wait, no he hasn't because she has not seen or walked Lennox since he was wrongfully seized.

Wonder how the 'expert' knows she cannot handle him then? Unless he's just making things up as he goes along Shock

FWIW my Dad has arthritus, heart and lung problems and back problems. He manages three large breed dogs on his own, twice a day with no problems.
