here

i noticed the other thread had gone.

lennox family are waiting on the 2nd day of court on the 23rd to hear lennox' fate.

lennox is a American Bull dog Labrador cross. he was seized by the dog warden and sentenced to be destroyed by the way he looks. 'type'. he was deemed a pit bull type dog.

his brother, from the same litter, was classed as a labrador cross.

his fate lies with teh court, but there is a petition with over 86 000 signatures trying to save a dog from death based on how he looks.

It does make me worry that they're simply buying time in the hope of accumulating more evidence, or of interest in the case waning, or something Sad

Though I'd like to think of it as hopeful.

Dunno PR, just dunno. :(

Stabby, your point is similar to the one we so often made about the killing of "aggressive" dogs in the Irish pounds I used to save from - these largely being dogs who had growled or been reclusive out of fear.

If these dogs are so aggressive how the feck does the vet manage to get close enough to stick a needle in them?

Surely the fact that the case has been postponed for another week means they haven't given the judge enough evidence for him to make a decision to have Lennox PTS?

This must be good news right? Or am I being hopelessly optimistic?

Just looked on the Belfast Telegraph website and they're saying (again) that Lennox was reported for snarling at dog wardens.

That'll be the same dog wardens who measured him and decided he was "type" then? Hmm

Another week - JEEZ!

Suppose no news is good news and all that.

Val, bloody sick of going through the same rigmarole every time I need to move (which is averaging 2 yrs atm).

This time its even harder - DH is just out of hospital and although he has a job cant prove his income as he has no recent wage slips and we're claiming HB till he's able to go back to work so no LA's will even consider us because of that never mind the dog!

Going down the HA route now so fingers crossed or I might just join you in the caravan Grin

Just read that too. Jesus, talk about making them all suffer.

I hope to god that it's going to be worth the stomach churning wait for the Barnes' and for Lennox.

Too slow as usual lol

As an aside, stabby, how the feck did you manage to link to a PDF? I never can, I always end up linking to the page which has the PDF link upon it and swearing in exasperation!

How odd that the Pit Bull is 'inherently' dangerous but the GSD (this would be the breed that the police work with) is not, especially since An actual expert ran a series of tests that show of a Rot, a GSD and a Pit, the PBT is actually the weakest Hmm

Police Dogs ought to be banned, if bite force is what determines how 'dangerous' a dog is.

5 foot 3, size 10 to 12 and with mild arthritis myself, I manage 2 large GSD and a stocky Lab, Dooin.

Unbelievable, this Peter Tallack "expert" guy.

He's ex Met, a PC up til 4 years ago, don't know whether he has gone higher in rank since.

He makes a nice profit giving talks on identifying Pit Bulls (I could do that!), and considers them inherently dangerous as their bite carries more poundage than any othr dog.

The average Pit is smaller than a Border Collie. Measure that up against the average Rottie and then tell me the guys not talking bollocks.

Anyone? No?

Thought not.

Ive just read that too Val Shock

There really is no level too low for these wankers is there?

I'll fucking upset him.... Angry ..... he'd know all about being upset if I could speak to him....

Pray god that the judge sees how desperately BCC are scraping the bottom of the barrell and how ludicrous their claims are.

DooinMeCleanin · 23/09/2011 14:34

Well obviously the 'expert' (who is now also a medical expert it would seem Confused) has seen her walk Lennox and how much she struggled, oh wait, no he hasn't because she has not seen or walked Lennox since he was wrongfully seized.

Wonder how the 'expert' knows she cannot handle him then? Unless he's just making things up as he goes along Shock

FWIW my Dad has arthritus, heart and lung problems and back problems. He manages three large breed dogs on his own, twice a day with no problems.
