here

i noticed the other thread had gone.

lennox family are waiting on the 2nd day of court on the 23rd to hear lennox' fate.

lennox is a American Bull dog Labrador cross. he was seized by the dog warden and sentenced to be destroyed by the way he looks. 'type'. he was deemed a pit bull type dog.

his brother, from the same litter, was classed as a labrador cross.

his fate lies with teh court, but there is a petition with over 86 000 signatures trying to save a dog from death based on how he looks.

One of the 3 DW who took the stand on Friday has called Lennox one of the most aggressive and dangerous dogs she's ever met. Hmm

This will be the aggressive dog who lived for 6 years with a disabled child, until that child reached 11 and the council stole her dog, will it? The dog seen licking the DW in those photos, will it?

I'd happily challenge them to watch me go in and interact with Lennox. Let's se how aggressive he really is!

A FOI request to the CC reveals that they claim (and I say claim, as I have my reservations) that Lennox is walked by and interacts with kennel staff.

I wonder if they can explain why those kennel staff aren't gibbering wrecks who have been savaged by this dangerous dog then?

Someone is lying to that judge... and hand on my heart, I don't think it's the Barnes family.

Hi misdee! They're 5 months now and big and scrummy! Sadly though Meow had a really nasty accident yesterday and slipped and has very swollen ligament and muscle damage to her left back leg - the hock area. It looks like a golf ball, the poor love. We thought she'd broken her leg but the lovely vet checked her over very carefully and have us anti-inflammatory drugs and painkillers and she's resting. Poor thing - it was awful, she got the leg trapped and was twisting and trying to pull it free which obviously made it worse. DH was holding her whilst I unpinned her and he now has 52 bite and scratch marks :( Awful really. Vet says ligaments can take longer to heal then bones too - she's currently asleep next to me and everytime I see her swollen leg I feel so sad for her.

Signed for Venus, who, again, could easily be my SBT.

Infact, I have a question - my SBT is a proper pedigree SBT, but we dont have the papers (we got her from a friend who has two SBTs who are pedigrees). We never bothered with sorting the papers out as we were never going to breed from her so it didnt seem important to us. Would having the papers save her if someone ever thought she was type?

I can't get on the petition via phone but will sign when I have reclaimed the laptop Smile

No Molly, because type is not a breed, it is a set of measurements, which is why this law is so ridiculous. Plus papers can be forged.

I am sure DBF that it isn't the family who are lying either.

I am absolutely sure we aren't being told the whole tryth about this and I am absolutely sure that something about it stinks to high heaven of a cover up ass covering exercise.

Damn. TRUTH (I can spell, honest I just can't type)

Report
misdee · 18/09/2011 16:12

sadly not molly. if a dog measures up to be a 'type' that is banned, then under law that dog could be destroyed.

ah thought so Dooin.

Yes it makes it even more bloody stupid Angry

Im fuming at the idea that someone might think she is type, infact a copper once commented that she looked like a pitbull when I took her out once so I dont take her out around here anymore just incase.

Far too much of "it's only a dog" on MN, wouldn't it be nice to see some compassion? Bumping to raise awareness, or do we only get that when I say or quote someone else's words and folk decide that they want to take a pop?

Ahh hello chickie, she's alot brighter today, thank you for thinkinf of us. She's licking at the swelling furiously (is that normal?) and her appetite is back which I think is a really good sign. She managed to jump on my bed last night, bless her. Oh! And we counted DH's bite marks - 52!! Mainly on the 'drumstick' bit of his left thumb. Oops! Luckily he's just as in love with Meow as I am though she loves me most We've got to check in with the Vet later but I'm hoping he was right and it's ligament not a break.

Glad to hear she's a lot brighter - poor DH though! Shock

If it's any comfort, been there, done that, he has my sympathy!

One cat I grabbed to check on his injuries, many years ago now, and to stop him getting further hurt, was so determined to break free that he quite literally left me with blood pouring down my hands and arms. I don't do the sight of blood... screamed so loudly that a kindly neighbour came running out and administered Rescue Remedy!

It might be all in the mind, I don't normally do "woo" any more than I do the sight of blood, but that stuff worked! :)

I look forward to hearing of little Meow (and DHs!) continued recovery. Boy are those kittens lucky to have found you. :)
