I did say it's unlikely not that it's impossible. Sambora could still be on the cards but it would be more of a reach than someone a bit more local.

You're right. So there was one American act in Season 3.

I'm still believing that it's more likely to be someone who is UK based rather than US based

Just putting this out there but it's highly unlikely that any of the remaining singers are not UK based or at least European.

In series 1 there was 3 of the acts that were American. In Series 2 there was 1 act that was American. In Series 3 there were no American acts in the show, though Pat Cash and Natalie Imbruglia did compete.

Does Richie Sambora live in the UK? If not, you can pretty much cross him off your list, no matter how well the clues fit. The UK rarely coughs up enough money to put an American celebrity up for a number of weeks so that they can take part in a TV show.
Same with Amber Riley. If she has finished in a show in the West End, then perhaps the timing could have been right for her to do this after that, but to just do this show, again, in my humble opinion, I think we really do need to be looking a little closer to home.

Because I’m very invested in the idea that JP is (rock god) Richie Sambora, I’ve had a quick Google. He was definitely in the UK in both November and December last year. Does anyone know when this was filmed?

Re the US thing, virtually the whole (ex) cast of Glee have been on everything going in the UK over the last year. No idea why but a Glee person is highly probable.

I don’t know, but he was at the Music Industry Trust Awards in London on 7 November, so could have filmed in October and stayed on afterwards

I think Tim Minchens voice is too good to be Phoenix, he has an incredible voice. Phoenix is very good but not incredible. I thought it sounded like Ricky Wilson this week more than other weeks. I am notoriously crap at guessing any correctly though. I only got Mark Feheely right last year as I love Westlife and there are very few singers that would have been versatile enough to be Robobunny. Other than that I am always wrong lol.

I think we are working too hard on trying to prove Jellyfish is not Amber Riley and JP is not Ritchie Thingy because we all want it to be some British girl band/boy band/ ageing rock star/ soap actor who we might all recognise form years of watching shit Brit telly of a weekend.

I feel we are all going to be leading ourselves up the garden path, only to hear Joel shout at the panel 'Oh wow! It's the household name you don't actually recognise but look amazed please!'

I actually can't hear Amber Riley's voice with Jellyfish TBH. I am a huge Glee fan and have an album of Ambers and her voice is quite different. She may be disguising it well. The clues point to Beverley Knight this week but they were maybe a bit too obvious so could be tenuous links to someone else.

I was out last night so have just caught up today. I figured out Otter as DMC with the captain and never mind clue so was very proud of myself for that as I never guess correctly!

I’m confused by people saying there have been too many Glee contestants though. I know one of the Glee cast was Scissors on The Masked Dancer but none of them have ever been on The Singer. Or not the UK version, at least.

My (most likely incorrect) guesses for the remaining lot are:

Fawn - one of the Sugababes. I don’t know which one.
Jacket potato - I’ll go along with the Richie Sambora guesses.
Rhino - I’m holding onto James Arthur, though you’re all close to convincing me that it’s Charlie Simpson.
Jellyfish - I have no idea.
Phoenix - also no idea but I’m going to stick with my original guess of David Tennant for now.
