I thought I might as well just start it myself. Can we discuss Stenders ad infinitum pleeease? I love it and want to talk about it with other fans.

I mean, the whole Lucas thing is really interesting - emotional abuse being explored by the writers I mean.

We had DV with Little Mo..

I reckon Lucas is going to murder Denise too.

he is going to murder her.. have you seen the spoilers on digital spy? they tell you all about it.
www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2/eastenders/

Claire70 · 02/07/2010 15:35

what doesn't make sense to me is why?? All the other murders are to protect his relationship with her, so what's the motivation for murdering her?

BTW I reckon they were going to have him murder that prostitute a few weeks back but they had a quick script re-write after the Cumbrian shootings.

potplant · 02/07/2010 15:39

I think that re-write was because of the Bradford murders rather than Cumbria.

It was def not supposed to happen like that as neither of them have actually mentioned it since.

Bit sad this story will be over soon, I have a big crush on psycho Lucas.

Unlikelyamazonian · 02/07/2010 15:43

at potplant. Lucas can't kiss!

I didn't know he is going to murder her. DON'T TELL ME THE PLOT!

Poor Denise. She is so lovely. I wish she was me mam.

I bloody hate that idiot boyfriend of Libby. Is it a sort of post-modern double-bluff -ie we are allowed to not like disabled people if they are horrible pigs ?

(I like anyalysing it all. I am that bloody sad)

OP posts:
potplant · 02/07/2010 15:59

Not kissing is a fairly trivial thing compared to murder, shagging prostitues etc.

We don't know if he murders Denise or not, they haven't confirmed whether she is leaving or not.

HousewifeOfOrangeCounty · 02/07/2010 16:01

I thought that the way he talked her around last night was brilliantly done, even DH who normally huffs at 'stenders was hooked.

Claire70 · 02/07/2010 16:02

The Bradford murders...that makes more sense potplant.

UA... impressive that you have the self-control not to read the spoilers, especially as they are right there on the front of the magazines next to the till at supermarkets. I guess that means you don't know which characters are due to be written out either?

Totally agree about Adam. What's he even doing hanging around the square now that his mother has moved on?

potplant · 02/07/2010 16:12

I'd love not to read the spoilers its so much better but I just can't help myself.

Unlikelyamazonian · 02/07/2010 16:12

I can't afford the magazines and don't want to know the plots anyway.

Yes, I agree the Lucas characterisation is good. Little Mo and DV was done really well too.

Can anyone name Den and Angie's dog?

OP posts:
potplant · 02/07/2010 16:14

Oh are you supposed to buy the magazines - no wonder they look a bit pissed off at me reading them all and putting them back.

Rindercella · 02/07/2010 16:15

Roly

Unlikelyamazonian · 02/07/2010 16:18

Yes!! {that was an easy one though}

Potplant, no you are meant to read them then put them back. I don't think shops expect money for them - only for things like Red, Marie Claire and 25 Beautiful Homes. So you are ok.

I can't afford to read them is what I meant.

OP posts:
Rockbird · 02/07/2010 16:19

I'm confused by the Denise thing. Adam, Libby and Chelsea are definitely leaving but I had heard nothing to say Denise was, or Patrick so assumed they stayed on but the last week they keep saying Denise is murdered. Hope not, I like her.

But, doesn't it make you laugh that the Johnsons/Trumans/Whatevers are all one big happy family. When in fact Patrick isn't related to any of them, they just live in his house but the writers have made them into one big happy family because they're all black and all black people in the square must live together, t'is the law! They'll be adopting that Mercy next, you wait and see...

Very odd.

potplant · 02/07/2010 16:21

Phew - I didn't think they could charge for such a load of tat like that!

I love the fact that the front page has really ridiculous headlines like 'Stacey dying' then it teeny print is says 'for a cup of tea' (or some such nonsense)

You don't want spoliers don't go near Digital Spy.

bleedingheart · 02/07/2010 16:22

I thought the way he manipulated Denise last night was well written but he's gone from murdering/allowing to die specific people who threatened his new life to trawling the streets and clubs and targetting sinners. I'm not sure I buy it. Could he really murder Denise? Well, I guess he let the mother of his other child die... I really liked him when he came into it (mostly because he's fit ) I do think they've developed his character in an unexpected way.

Unlikelyamazonian · 02/07/2010 16:23

Isn't denise related to patrick? I thought Libby was too. I dont know it all you know.

OP posts:
potplant · 02/07/2010 16:24

Rockbird - And the whole who's the father of Denise, obviously Patrick is in the frame what with him being black and everything. I'm not from London but I had assumed that there are more than 4 black people living there.

5inthebed · 02/07/2010 16:28

I think they thought Patrick was Denise's dad at one point, DNA test showed otherwise.

I thought Lucas was going to murder Peggy? Good way for her to leave the show.

bleedingheart · 02/07/2010 16:29

Why did I read the Digital Spy link? I'm SO disappointed in the scriptwriters, how could they?!

Rockbird · 02/07/2010 16:31

Amazonian there was a storyline a few years back when Denise thought that Patrick was her father, but it turned out he wasn't. They had become friendly though so I think that's why they moved in with him. Still daft that we obviously can't cope with more than one black household

Unlikelyamazonian · 02/07/2010 17:02

Having lived in London for years I really don't notice the black household thing. I mean, it's representation. I do notice that there aren't any native Devonians in it asking for pasties though. I mean, there are literally thousands of us down here. Asking for pasties and surfing to Asda. Why aren't we shown in Stenders?

OP posts:
HousewifeOfOrangeCounty · 02/07/2010 17:35

or northerners - when they did have one he was a total cliche I think he even wore a flat cap. I can't remember his name, but he had a thing with Mo.

Rockbird · 02/07/2010 17:40

Jay's grandad. He got right on my tits. Eastenders is funny in that sometimes they hit the nail right on the head. I think there's an ep coming up where Ronnie tells Glenda everything that Archie did to her and you can bet that'll be a terrific episode. But then other things they just don't seem to get.

2shoes · 02/07/2010 17:44

what is the point of Adam?

2shoes · 02/07/2010 17:44
