I don't know - I imagine he's still there though... Has she never watched any programmes with Mary on it before? Wouldn't you do that before applying? Even with 36 years experience... did she mention that?

JackieNo · 07/06/2010 22:00

Was it really 36 years? I missed that...

36
36
36 bloody hell she could bang on

Pancakeflipper · 07/06/2010 22:02

36 years of experience ... Really??? Oh she should have said

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 07/06/2010 22:02

Stupid woman to apply to be on without actually wanting any help. Love MP. She's brill.

ClaireDeLoon · 07/06/2010 22:02

Yes, 36 years, she was quite shy of admitting it though

Buddleja · 07/06/2010 22:02

I want Paul to get a job as a baker in the new waitrose across the street.

ifancyashandy · 07/06/2010 22:03

Ha Ha Ha! Love the 'she's still selling pre-mix' message at the end!!

Buddleja · 07/06/2010 22:04

but what about Paul?

I'm worried about Paul

ifancyashandy · 07/06/2010 22:05

Hendo - can you go and investigate about Paul and report back (not tonight, obvs!)?

Meglet · 07/06/2010 22:06

he'll be working at night though. Sneak out after midnight and see if he's there!

booyhoo · 07/06/2010 22:07

is there anywhere i can watch this now? i missed it.

GoingPostal · 07/06/2010 22:08

her website boasts about mentions master-baker Paul, looks like he's still there.

she was mad. and yes just wanted a make over for the shop. But of course Mary just wanted to "get back at her" and deny her a new floor!

kittya · 07/06/2010 22:09

Has nothing come of it then?

Buddleja · 07/06/2010 22:10

Please Hendo - all you have to do for us is wait two and a bit hour and go for a snop.

Buddleja · 07/06/2010 22:14

does BBC2 have the i player thingie booyhoo?

I live in a country where i can't view it - but if it does (and you are in the UK) I'd say that's your best bet

goldenticket · 07/06/2010 22:15

What compulsive, hide behind the sofa TV. Unbelievable woman - did she honestly think that the BBC were going to pay for an entire shop refit and that would be that??

Yes, Paul gets a grudging mention on the website but no photo (the lady turning out the pre-mix bread got two), so it looks very much like "baker, know thy place" to me. How very DARE MP give Paul ideas above his station! God, I seriously hope a businessman with vision snaps up Paul and opens round the corner .

Hendo, please go and have a look and report back.

booyhoo · 07/06/2010 22:15

thanks buddleja

goldenticket · 07/06/2010 22:16

Correction, businessperson, sorry

TheHouseofMirth · 07/06/2010 22:19

'tis a crap bakers but she's always been quite pleasant when I've been in. She's not all bad - she gives us all free donuts and wine at Halloween...

kittya · 07/06/2010 22:20

does anyone know where that gorgeous cake shop MP took her to is?

AvadaKedavra · 07/06/2010 22:20

Those smiley-faced doughnuts/biscuits were seriously creepy, reminded me of the faces on Soundgarden Blackhole Sun video [hides]

Buddleja · 07/06/2010 22:21

dunno kittya I was too busy goggle the baker to take any notice of where his shop was

BreevandercampLGJ · 07/06/2010 22:22

What a vile intransigent[sp] old biddy.

And if she is doing so well for herself after 36 years, why is she still living over the shop ?

Oh that will be control.

She asked Mary Portas to visist here, Mary Portas did not just arrive by accident.

JackieNo · 07/06/2010 22:23

kittya - I think this is the cake shop
