Channel 4 tonight, featuring a lovely young couple from our village.

OP posts:

Very stressful for them - she seems to be pinning so much on a vaginal delvery.

letsblowthistacostand · 23/02/2010 21:13

Don't think her husband should be putting so much pressure on her

tiredfeet · 23/02/2010 21:13

oooh I want a waterbirth now I am so scared about childbirth but that looked alright

petalpower · 23/02/2010 21:14

Dominique looks lovely!

PictureThis · 23/02/2010 21:14

fabulous view from their window

crankytwanky · 23/02/2010 21:14

Oh lordy I'm crying again. Thought Eastenders had had me cried out!

Alambil · 23/02/2010 21:14

I dealt with husbands/partners like him getting stroppy if labour took "too long". Part of the reason I left - too stressful.

McDreamy · 23/02/2010 21:15

Ah right I was expecting her to be one of the mums!

I was looked after by a Team of midwives with my first, it was really nice! They didn't last due to finances.

spilttheteaagain · 23/02/2010 21:16

this midwife is so lovely "Just boss us around and tell us what you need"

JollyPirate · 23/02/2010 21:16

Have a feeling that Darren could be pissing off a few people this evening...

Alambil · 23/02/2010 21:16

we're going to need a new home next week!

expatinscotland · 23/02/2010 21:16

I wanted a waterbirth with DD2 but didn't get there in time.

So instead of just those little grunts Andrea did at the end I sounded like a constipated cow.

SleepyDopeyGrumpy · 23/02/2010 21:16

This programme has me in tears for all the usual reasons but also because i planned to be a midwife but due to worries about future have to pick a different career

Makes me broody and frustrated and in awe and sad all at the same time and im not pregnant nor am ever likely to be again!

spilttheteaagain · 23/02/2010 21:17

Lewis I think we might need a new home in about 10 mins!

petalpower · 23/02/2010 21:17

Agree about the husband putting pressure on for a natural birth. Why do some men think they know best when they don't have to go through actually giving birth themselves?

Sorry, but that VBAC woman's husband should be shot - I really meant that !!!!

What the hell is wrong with a c-section !!!!
What the hell does it matter how a baby is born ! What it should be about is: the safest possible birth for the baby, and safest for the mum.

crankytwanky · 23/02/2010 21:17

PictureThis, the view is of Fawley oil refinery iirc. Nice if you look the other way!

Alambil · 23/02/2010 21:17

lol, you're probably right!

notnowbernard · 23/02/2010 21:18

Expat, I had 2 straightforward, pretty chilled-out waterbirths and DP said I sounded like "lowing cattle"

I remember making a right old racket, very erm, primal

JollyPirate · 23/02/2010 21:18

Oh Fuck - Aptamil follow on/Always Ultra/McDonalds......

GhoulsAreLoud · 23/02/2010 21:18

Wasn't that the same guy who was lecturing her about how she could have had an operation to avoid all this at the beginning?

at him.

emma1977 · 23/02/2010 21:18

Her husband is a bit of a twunt
