Kevin McCLoud in CSI. What, him? Does he solve crimes by examining paint swatches?

Anyway, yes to Mad Men, definitely no to lost and 24. And I think I am with 100x on Glee. I think. Have only seen one. Quite funny at end. Incomprehensible at beginning. And what's with the appalling dubbing of the songs? Or is that ironic or somefink?

Know nothing of Good Wife.

So, I'll get my coat.

midnightexpress · 25/01/2010 10:43

Ah, sorry. have reread and now realise Kevin McCloud not in CSI. Good.

ahundredtimes · 25/01/2010 10:43

Oh yes. I think it might be me. I never watched Buffy either.

I used to stare at adults on the tube reading Harry Potter too.

notyummy · 25/01/2010 10:43

Would love to opine on 3, 4, and 5....but have given up on both Lost and 24 so may have to press nose against the glass longingly.

Can we substitute Nurse Jackie?

Or new series of CSI?

Or the new series of Royal Navy history with hist-phwoar-ian Dan Snow??

You are going to tell me to get lost and its not a democracy...aren't you?

DecorHate · 25/01/2010 10:44

I'm with you ahundredtimes. My friend in the US was raving about it so we watched a few episodes before it came out her (ahem).

Maybe we need to persevere but...

It reminds of when my other friend in the US used to rave about Seinfeld... maybe it's a different SOH?

RonaldMcDonald · 25/01/2010 10:44

surely only husbands are still watching the bloody bewildering Lost

midnightexpress · 25/01/2010 10:46

Oh, and I will throw Curb Your Enthusiasm into the ring as it is the best thing on TV. Bar none.

ahundredtimes · 25/01/2010 10:46

Now Seinfeld was funny!

I don't think it's about the sense of humour. I understand it - I don't think it's a bad show at all. But something for a 40 y-old woman to get excited about? NON.

GetOrfMoiLand · 25/01/2010 10:46

List of things now allowed to watch as a teen:

Fresh Prince (I still wtach this in delight as it still feel forbidden nearly 20 years later)
Blossom
Clarissa teenage witch
Saved by the Bell
Number 73, Going Live, Andy Crane in the broom cupboard.

Apparently it was all 'crap' so had to watch the following with my gran:

Murder she wrote
The Colbys
Heartbeat
Casualty
TV movies from hell which always seemed to star jaclyn Smith.
Fucking Maigret

No wonder am not fussed about TV after that lot.

(watched world in action by choice, as well as panorama and Watchdog with Lynn Faulds Wood - I loved her especially when she banged on about death traps- yes was geek).

It's all right you lot, carry on talking about stuff I don't understand like the cows in Mr Ellis's tutor group.

MollyRoger · 25/01/2010 10:48

Maybe i was just swayed by the version of Journey's don't stop belieivin' which is one of my all time favourite 'guilty pleasures' cockrock tracks....

nah, ds and I laughed like drains last week at the woodwork teacher with no thumbs trying to eat cake with no thumbs.

notyummy · 25/01/2010 10:50

Getorf.....you truely were cursed to social pariahdom....

My DH didn't have a TV in his house at all for much of primary school and still remembers how he couldn't make conversation...

I, however, was an only child with parents who had (and still have) pretty cool TV tastes, so I watched all sort of stuff. My mum and dad just finished series 5 of the Wire (aged 72) and didn't need subtitles....unlike my BIL (who is 27! )

GetOrfMoiLand · 25/01/2010 10:51

Now I would love to see CSI with Kevin McCloud.

He would investigate if a corpse had integrity.

MollyRoger · 25/01/2010 10:51

Getof - I'm not kidding, my Victorian father disallowed everything... from Grange Hill to Kenny Everett. I was total social outcast.

''did you see last night's The Tube? With Frankie Goes To Hollywood?''

''No but the dung beetle on last night's Life on Earth was far out and groovy...''

Teen mags and make up were also outlawed. And Popular Music was Frowned Upon.

ahundredtimes · 25/01/2010 10:51

I do really, really love the cheerleaders coach. I love that woman. Have you ever seen Best in Show? She's funny.

I feel rather sour now. It's not that it is bad or anything, it's just all the hype, and then I watch it and it's a show for teens and teen fashions and blah - whereas everyone was pitching it as something more maybe? Anyway

GetOrfMoiLand · 25/01/2010 10:52

Love love love Curb your Enthusiasm, my beloved brother bought me the whole lot on DVD.

Surpised I haven't been kicked off thread by OP (who would have been one of those piss taking so and sos in year 9!)
