Did anyone else think that last night's episode was the best written on ever? They must have different writers on board.

Two important questions below..

Is Leo dead or just wan?!
Do you fancy Harry?

Its the first non-Amanda Burton one I have watched and found it v entertaining. (I think the other series were on during my pregnancies and I just to go to bed at 9pm so missed some good stuff!)

Harry is yummy Gin roll on 9pm

WinkyGirl · 08/01/2010 20:24

obviously

Am going alcohol free in January and missing my g&t!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 08/01/2010 20:29

It would be good to have a gin emoticon too. It would come in handy, maybe in the AIBU posts!!

Me and DH think they must have new writers on board, coz it was different. Right at the beginning we said cyanide, we should be bloody detectives us.

I went right off Harry in the car park. It made me feel really uncomfortable.
The woman he was shagging - was she Captain Jack's daughter in Torchwood?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 08/01/2010 23:23

My lovely Harry should have never shagged in the car park

Do you know, I think it was Captain Jack's daughter, you are right.

But we do love Harry

Missed the first & was a bit confused

So was that her husband at the end?

foxinsocks · 09/01/2010 07:38

yes she certainly spoke like Captain Jack's daughter. She'd made a great ventriloquist that woman. She barely moves her mouth when she speaks. I was deaf for a year or so as a child so I lip read when people talk (out of habit, even though I can hear now) - it fools my brain when I can't see people's mouths move so I could barely hear what she was saying!

yes, I thought cyanide too

it was quite compelling though I used to think Harry was quite fanciable, I now find him a bit annoying and slightly drippy.

they've made whatsherface woman a bit more spirited this series (the blonde pathologist) Emilia Fox is it? - I thought she was SO one dimensional before. She used to have 2 facial expressions - pained or unpained and that was it. She was FAR better in the last 2 episodes I thought!

foxinsocks · 09/01/2010 07:40

yes, I guess she had married another bloke with a terminal illness who was going to die and would try and make some money off him? unless I got it spectacularly wrong lol

foxinsocks · 09/01/2010 07:40

she'd make a great ventriloquist grr

foxinsocks · 09/01/2010 07:44

or that was her 'dead' husband and he had never died iyswim (hence no autopsy recorded etc. etc.)

foxinsocks · 09/01/2010 07:45

actually that's more likely innit

I thought the MOST implausible bit was the insurance investigator. No way someone would be allowed to behave like that. She'd have been arrested far earlier for harrassment!

LIZS · 09/01/2010 08:01

It was husband in Mexico. They had falsified his death (no 999 call or trace of body arriving at/leaving the morgue) and post mortem to get the insurance money for the drug treatment . Not sure how she would have got him out of the country so easily though - there were vague references to "he" needing care at home. She had manipulated the guy in the Coroner's office to do it then he tried to frame her when it was being discovered (but presumably husband would have seen/heard some of it and tipped her off ).

RatherBeOnThePiste · 09/01/2010 08:41

Definitely the best so far though. What has leos partner been in before? We couldn't remember. I do remember her arriving in the last series though. Also liked the new fharachter of Charlie. Do you remember fred who always took the pictures? We used to love him too!!!

OP posts:
4andnotout · 09/01/2010 08:53

Leo's partner used to be in The Bill

foxinsocks · 09/01/2010 08:58

was she? I could have sworn she was in Casualty or one of those medical things. they do like rotating the cast around the shows don't they!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 09/01/2010 09:15

She must have been in something else too as I've never seen the bill. This is going to annoy me now!

OP posts:
4andnotout · 09/01/2010 09:22

Jaye Griffiths She has been in the bill, Doctors and Casualty

foxinsocks · 09/01/2010 09:24

it's a bit off that when you click on the cast and character section on the BBC website, it only lists the 3 main characters!

Idontknowhowtohelpher · 09/01/2010 09:27

I couldn't understand how Leo's signature was on the faked report - and he identified it as his?
I liked the cameraderie between the pathologists - in real life there is often a lot of joshing goes on where a group of people work closely together and I liked the way that was portrayed.
I thought the second part was much better than part one.

foxinsocks · 09/01/2010 09:27

ok it's Jaye Griffiths (got her name on iplayer)

she has been in DOCTORS - that's where I remember her from (and the Bill, you were right!)

(and criminal justive and touch of frost but not Casualty!)

foxinsocks · 09/01/2010 09:28

Oh I lie, it says one episode of Casualty and one of Holby! but a stint in Doctors and the Bill which is probably where she's been seen before

Idontknowhowtohelpher · 09/01/2010 09:29

Ah, it's BUGS that I remember her from - that dates me

foxinsocks · 09/01/2010 09:30

they used another dead man's autopsy but changed the name on it I think

so it was a genuine autopsy (of a man who died the night that they said Stephen Connolly had died) but changed the man who'd died's name for Stephen's name

foxinsocks · 09/01/2010 09:31

lol, I remember bugs but it was so shite wasn't it

and 1999 can't possibly date you at all!

Idontknowhowtohelpher · 09/01/2010 09:44

LOL it was shite! and I used to watch it every week
