nickytwotimes · 21/12/2009 20:58

You lucky feckers.

Not on in Scotland until 9.30.

Currently stuck with Universally Challenged then a God awful sitom.

RainRainGoAway · 21/12/2009 21:02

I wish theywould just show the sketches rather than have Micheal Ball crapping on!

GetOrfMoiLand · 21/12/2009 21:05

DP is watching some crap about the fucking knights templar so am going to watch VW in dd's bedroom on a crappy telly.

'but I have been looking forward to this programme for weeks' he bleated. FFS.

jeep · 21/12/2009 21:18

ha this is so funny! i love the way mrs o suddenly goes all posh

LizzyLordsALeaping · 21/12/2009 21:47

This is lovely!
Reminds me of my teen years and snuggling up with my Mom and watching Acorn Antiques and "let's do it", then meeting (Northern DH) and watching Dinnerladies.
I spend my life up here thinking "I am in a Victoria Wood sketch", the belly dancing classes, the conversations in shops, wish I was clever enough to write me own sketches.

SixtyFootDoll · 21/12/2009 21:52

She is a genius.
Mrs Overall in her leotard.

I loved the shoe shop sketch.
'Flatter now...'

IMoveTheStarsForChristmas · 21/12/2009 22:51

Oh poo only just seen this thread so have now missed it!

I have seen VW twice live (many years ago) and loved her.

We used use her catch phrases in our hockey team,

"Red cabbage how much?",
"Red cabbage no idea"

Also saw Susie Blake (bitchy newsreader in VW sketches) recently in Grumpy Old Women in Liverpool...

Now upset I have missed an evening with VW...

If two soups was on the VW night earlier I missed it, so here it is for everyone two soups

nannynobnobs · 21/12/2009 23:20

Had it on all night, been hooting my socks off, though currently have tears in my eyes at the shitters being open

GetOrfMoiLand · 21/12/2009 23:23

Lol at my stupid self. Also italicised shitters as well which makes it so much worse.

I had completely forgotten about the swimming the channel sketch, how bittersweet that was.

Also love the posh RADAish actress character who plays Mrs O. Julie W genius.

jeep · 22/12/2009 09:25

laughing so much at the bbc channels!

bbc knitwear
bbc braindead
bbc wartime

what were the others? loved the WI - CSI style she's fantastic

JeffVadar · 22/12/2009 12:39

DH was as I wept with laughter as Mrs O in her leotard... It was the three on the sofa not daring to look at her that did it!

hocuspontas · 22/12/2009 12:52

I would never have recognised Bobby Crush in a million years. He looked like Michael Ball's twin brother.

pissovski · 22/12/2009 13:04

i am so annoyed that i missed this I adore VW and have done for as long as i can remember. Was probably about 11/12 when i got the As Seen On TV on video and then a stand up show (Sold Out)not long after. I watched it so much, i think i knew it word for word - and probably still would if i was to see it again.

2 soups is ace, Julie W is amazing "Is it on the trolley?". I loved Susie Blake as the Announcer lady and i remember being entranced by "Kitty" (Patricia Routledge). 'Let's Do It' is a classic, but i also think 'Kimberley' is fantastic. There are sooo many wondeful sketches!!

Having said all that - it probably was good that i didn't see it. It would have reminded me lots of my mum, who passed away earlier this year. We used to be able to quite "Trolley" and "Kimberly" - so thy are for you mum!

I have it recorded, I'm waiting for the DDs to go out so I can spend the afternoon watching it. Mrs Overall is genius.

BexJ78 · 22/12/2009 21:56

AitchTwoOhOneOh · 24/12/2009 12:32
