I am the WORST person for hating that X-mas now seems to start in mid October, but I can contain myself no longer!

who (...) is watching?!

squeeeeeeEEeeEEEeEEEEE!!!

Oh no is Dr Poo on again on Christmas day. I hate it. DD is a massive fan.

KaySqueeHarker · 17/12/2009 14:03

It was the Easter special that introduced the 'Four Knocks' idea. The psychic lady said it at the very end: cue lots and lots and lots of fannish speculation.

AboardtheAxiom · 17/12/2009 14:19

Said what at the end??!?? {frustrated}

Yes I did miss the easter one was bloody camping!

christmaseve - how can you not like Doctor Who?! Your DD can join the club with us, you must continue to post on he behalf.

KaySqueeHarker · 17/12/2009 14:22

She said 'He will knock four times'.

Tennant says it's not what we think it is, but unlike in my worst fantasies, Tennant doesn't know what I'm thinking

christmaseve · 17/12/2009 14:25

Apologies for dissing it but in our house it's the same. I cannot move in case it makes a noise, god help me if I cough, let alone speak.

AboardtheAxiom · 17/12/2009 14:32

Will let you off christmaseve in the spirit of the season

Kay - I think he actually does know what we are thinking, he has that cheeky promising twinkle in his eye.

KaySqueeHarker · 17/12/2009 15:13

oo, stop, stop, I need very little encouragement

SleepyDopeyGrumpy · 17/12/2009 15:16

Cannot wait!

But sad that we're coming to the end of DT's time

Im not sure how i will feel about watching the new doctor even if he is good because i find him very unattractive and to me the Doc HAS to be cheeky and fit so we can think naughty thoughts about him while the kids enjoy the aliens!

UnquietDad · 17/12/2009 15:53

It's actually four knockers. Peri and Leela are coming back.

persephonesnape · 17/12/2009 16:16

at unquietdad ;)

i like the new one already. (doesn't feel right calling him 'matt' yet. we're not quite on first name terms..) i trust in the moff. i think he's going to be a bit tom-like and I maintain that doctors degenerate a little as they regenerate, so he will hopefully be as mad as a fish.

The End of Time? How festive

About as festive as the usual booze-fuelled fight and marriage break-up in Eastenders.

UnquietDad · 18/12/2009 13:57

To be fair the Doctor was never even vaguely "cheeky and fit" until Peter Davison, was he? I don't think that many housewives in the 60s would have been dampening their gussets over William Hartnell.

cornsilklikeshumous · 18/12/2009 14:08

I am very excited but last year's and the year before were so disappointing.

JackieNo · 18/12/2009 15:05

I don't know, UnquietDad - Tom Baker was a bit of a goer, by all accounts. He might have dampened a few gussets.

KaySqueeHarker · 18/12/2009 17:43

Well, I for one am quite content not to fancy Matt Smith. 'Tis a blessed relief to not fancy the Doctor. It'll be very nice to enjoy the thing without finding myself simpering over him.

persephonesnape · 19/12/2009 11:10

you say that now kaysquee. i didn't fancy tennant at first.

worryingly I only seem to fancy men in real life who have that doctor who quality. when martha says to matron in human nature, 'he's like no man you've ever met before, isn't he?' (paraphrasing slightly) that's what gets me.

sadly, a distinct lack of time lords in real life. ;)

OP posts:
KaySqueeHarker · 19/12/2009 11:39

No, I've never fancied another Doctor - even Peter Davison never figured in the crush department as he was too 'Dad-like'. I actively want the crush to depart with Tennant. I shall be most put out if it continues (though no doubt the fanfic would flow better )

RustyBear · 19/12/2009 13:16

I agree with Kay - I actually did rather fancy Peter Davison (he's only 5 years older than me) and it probably led to me being less than fair to Colin Baker, who is definitely my least favourite Doctor) because I was disappointed that Davison was leaving. With Sylvester McCoy I was able to go back to liking-but-not-leching but by then the stories, with the honourable exception of Ghostlight & a couple of others) were pretty much crap, so he was rather wasted.

Having been brought up on Hartnell & Troughton (who I think is actually the best Doctor apart from David Tennant) I definitely prefer not to fancy the doctor.

(I am trying not to imagine Patrick Troughton in some of Kay's fanfic....)

timelordvictorious · 19/12/2009 13:29

'dampening their gussets' - UQD,you are quite the poet. (True though...)

Am UNBELIEVABLY excited. My only issue is the timing. 6pm is bedtime hour time - the DD will be bathed and expecting sodding Waybuloo. Maybe I can palm her off with the Gruffalo beforehand and early to bed because of all the excitement.

MrsSaxon · 20/12/2009 19:42

Personally, I am more exited about all that delicious Mastery goodness, Yummy!

KaySqueeHarker · 20/12/2009 19:45

Being spoilered to the gills, I can't even begin to say what I'm most excited about. So I'll just pick Wilf. Yay Wilf!

MrsSaxon · 20/12/2009 20:47

There is so much spoilery, makes you wonder how it will really go down.

persephonesnape · 20/12/2009 21:29

hahah, mrs saxon, saw the trailer today for the first time with the DCs in the room and blurted out 'GOD! he's HOT! when mr S was on screen.

todays obsverver article.heart breaks clean in two. (yay! am timelady!)

SantaIsMyLoveSlave · 22/12/2009 18:36

A different type of Who/Hamlet squee...
