Desperate Romantics - SO excited

Can hardly contain my excitement...!!
Aidan Turner (the gorgeous vampire from Being Human - sorry language failure there - 'gorgeous' doesn't begin to cover it ) in series about the Pre-Raphaelites.
All long coats and brooding artiness.
Can hardly breathe - must take deep breath.

Have no interest in art at all, but by god this looks good.

A whole week of Captain Jack and Ianto and now this, why BBC you are spoiling us

I was just abot to post to draw KayHarker's attention to this...

JackieNo · 15/07/2009 20:56

If anyone can, Kay can

DarrellRivers · 15/07/2009 20:59

Oh, I loved the pre-raphelites when I was a sulky moody, -boring introspective teenager

JackieNo · 21/07/2009 19:25

On tonight...

JackieNo · 21/07/2009 20:51

On in 10 minutes.

DarrellRivers · 21/07/2009 20:55

am ready

JackieNo · 21/07/2009 21:32

The jaunty music is a bit annoying.

JackieNo · 21/07/2009 21:36

lololol at 'Drink disagrees with me'
'Me too, but I enjoy the argument.'

HerBeatitude · 21/07/2009 21:41

He's a bit camp, that Mr Gorgeous. Can't think who he reminds me of.

Oh yes David Walliams.

Sorry.

Dammit I fancied him until I noticed that...

kathyis6incheshigh · 21/07/2009 21:44

poor Effie.

HerBeatitude · 21/07/2009 22:00

ooh this is good, it's a series I didn't realise that.

Every Tuesday you say?

Hurray!

JackieNo · 21/07/2009 22:07

I enjoyed it - will be watching again (partly for the very lovely Aidan Turner). Some very funny lines, too, which I wasn't expecting.

MovingOutOfBlighty · 21/07/2009 22:09

Music a bit crapola (stop trying to be too hip - you are BBC2) but quite enjoyable and lots of satisfactory breeches action.

HerBeatitude · 21/07/2009 22:15

ROFL at breeches action

JackieNo · 28/07/2009 17:41

Looking forward to a bit more breeches action tonight.

glasjam · 28/07/2009 21:40

I found this to be quite the biggest pile of toss that I've witnessed in some time. None of the male actors seem appealing in any way and Rossetti seems to fancy himself as a bit of a Daniel Day Lewis but falls VERY short. I squirmed through the first 10 minutes and then had to turn it off - which is unheard of me for a "costume drama" - the music is irritating and all the swaggering down the streets like a Victorian Reservoir Dogs was just embarrassing.

The writing appears to be aimed at the hard of thinking - its only saving grace is the beauty of some of the women. I am actually watching Episode 2 now because there is nothing else on and have just heard the line "restless genitals" Ha!

I just HAD to vent - when's the news on?

Chevre · 29/07/2009 09:33

i am loving this. but i am not watching for serious education on the pre-raphaelites. second episode was not as good but there is only so much slightly soiled breeched brooding one can take methinks
