I thought you meant the one with the gorilla playing the drums

I'd love it if his big old silverback dad was on mumsnet!!!!

Pawslikepaddington · 28/01/2009 22:20

Docbunches · 29/01/2009 18:44

Not my DCs, but I do actually know the cute girl, she used to do ballet at the same school as my DD and I know her mum fairly well - she has another daughter who is currently in the Oliver stage show - so a very talented family!.

Wonderstuff · 29/01/2009 18:46

Oh I started a thread about this yesterday, its fecking hilarious

educatingrita · 29/01/2009 19:20

Hi. My DD is the girl in the Cadburys AD.
A friend just showed me the link to this thread so I thought Id say HI and thanks for the kind comments.
It makes a change from al the really nasty ones on youtube ; (

whoingodsnameami · 29/01/2009 19:21

I dont think I have seen it, is there a link?

paolosgirl · 29/01/2009 19:23

Ok - at the risk of sounding completely thick - are they really doing that with their eyebrows, or is it some kind of magical televisual-land trickery?

They are hilarious!

xtc · 29/01/2009 19:25

it's cgi you can see the blurrrrr

educatingrita · 29/01/2009 19:27

Its not CGI except for the bit of her on her own which is speeded up (of course); )

They used pads stuck onto the forehead, just above the brows which were attached to wires.
2 puppeteers each were standing behind them and pulling the wire to dance the eyebrows to the music. The kids also helped and did a bit on there own!

The puppeteers, pads and wires are just then edited out cleverly. It took 2 days and DD had a slightly sore head after but she had great fun as you can imagine

paolosgirl · 29/01/2009 19:29

My DH can actually do this with his eyebrows for real [proud emoticon]

I'm a lucky lucky lay-dee.

educatingrita · 29/01/2009 19:30

They did see a LOOOT of kids for this commercial when auditioning last year.

I think the skill of keeping a staright face was actually more important than being able to raise your eyebrows as DD not that great!

educatingrita · 29/01/2009 19:32

Meant to say straight obviously

fryalot · 29/01/2009 19:33

Have just seen this!!!! (more 4 - grand designs)

It was faberoonie! - educatingrita - you must be very proud, your dd did a fantastic job!

(and she's gorgeous...)

paolosgirl · 29/01/2009 19:36

Sorry, Educating, I've just read your earlier post and realised your DD is the little girl in the ad. She (and the boy) are just amazing. I've had a horrible flu bug this week, and saw the ad for the first time from my sick bed - cheered me up no end! You must be very proud of her

educatingrita · 29/01/2009 19:36

Thankyou very much. Shes kinda goofy I know, but I think thats the look they were going for.
Really nice to read something nice, its been a tough week!

YouLukaBeautiful · 29/01/2009 19:36

Educatingrita - I am soo happy to meet you
It is such a funny ad and I do think she is fab!!
Are you usually around on MN? Or is this your memorable 'how did you find MN' moment
Paolosgirl - wow how lucky you are

educatingrita · 29/01/2009 19:38

I used to post ages ago, when there was a thread for modelling mums I think it was.

Not been on for ages though, at least a year but DocBunches kindly e-mailed me the link to see the discussion as she knows my DD was in the ad. xx

xtc · 29/01/2009 19:39

omg they actually did use wires! your poor daughter's head

paolosgirl · 29/01/2009 19:41

I am that! The long winter evenings just fly by in our house.

educatingrita · 29/01/2009 19:42

Yeah. I guess the blur you can see is where they edited them out (and the pads).

Its been well done though I think, considering there were 3 men standing behind them.

I think its ok for me to tell you all as it was in the Independant newspaper with photo's Monday!

thatsnotmymonster · 29/01/2009 19:42

oh wow! Congratulations! I haven't even seen the ad- I really want to now!!

Not sure if this will work but will try anyway...

Stretch · 29/01/2009 19:51

Why has it been a tough week? What kind of nasty comments on Youtube?

Shall we duff them up??

keevamum · 29/01/2009 19:51

Your dd looks gorgeous. You should be so proud. Did she know the boy beforehand or not?
