Meh. I was really pleased about this coming back after the cracking pilot, and I've only just found out that Andrea Riseborough isn't returning, they're making it 'less gothic and funnier' and the rather attractive fey vampire bloke has been replaced too.

serenity, or anyone who is a bit more excited about it, come and enthuse me, I want to like it, but I've got a horrible feeling they're going to make 'Two Pints: The supernatural version' instead...

Bumping for you.

laweaselmys · 16/01/2009 13:54

I'm excited. If they do the comedy well - as in actually genuinely dark & witty with only a little bit of a silly, I think it'll be good.

I really enjoyed the pilot.

Bit sad there's no Andrea though, she was fabulous.

KayHarker · 30/01/2009 22:08

yay! Just seen it and loved it. And I want the sexy vampire fella to bite me good and proper, oh yes.

Different to the pilot in good ways - liked how the vampire cult was way more shadowy and in the background, and the head vampire bloke was less obvious.

We stumbled upon it last Sunday night, wow! It's penciled in to watch next episode tonite, hopefully.

serenity · 01/02/2009 11:11

Sorry Kay, I didn't see this, I glad you've discovered it's just as good as the pilot though I have enthused over it already on MN, but it's hidden on the Supernatural thread (slight tumbleweed area, lol)

I'm ashamed to say that I actually prefer the new Mitchell (he's so pretty, and he's got that lovely accent. He sounds like Angel was meant to....)

The stuff on the BBC site is excellent - I'm being exceedingly lazy in not linking, sorry, but there is one on the SPN thread

meridian · 01/02/2009 18:05

I never saw the pilot but DH and I watched the first episode last night and I have set the sky+ to record them!

it was very good and funny I was a little dubious at first as we missed the first 5 or so minutes.. but it was quite fun an amusing and the vampire was very pretty.

KayHarker · 01/02/2009 20:52

No, agreed, prefer the new Mitchell, which is really surprising, because I did like the original, and he's quite different.

JackBauer · 01/02/2009 20:53

I love it!
Didn't see the pilot and thought the adverts were a bit but found it on iplayer and had a watch.
Did you know tonights episode is on BBC three website already? Am watching it now!

gallusbesom · 02/02/2009 08:28

I missed the original pilot but lovin this series! I take it Mitchell wears gloves cos he has ice cold skin? And the ghost girl (can remember her name sorry) who thinks she was pushed down the stair by her fiance?

KayHarker · 02/02/2009 09:26

Oh yes, definitely more to be discovered re: the fiancee. Something not quite right at all about that.

I was so creeped out by Tully. So much so that I was hoping for some, er, private time with Dh, and ended up just wanting to go to sleep! Normally fancy Dean Lennox Kelly, too, which didn't help. [nauseous]

love it, very funny and weirdy. is the pilot on iplayer? couldn't find it.

TrillianAstra · 02/02/2009 10:06

I second astra's question: is the pilot on iplayer? I didn't watch it last night but I think I want to.

KayHarker · 02/02/2009 10:28

I don't think so - the pilot was on ages ago, and it's not being considered part of the official storyline anymore. It would be nice if it was on any eventual DVD release.

I also think its a cracking series and the pilots on YouTube [http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=cy5ftKy2Qhw

serenity · 02/02/2009 11:15

I've still got the pilot on my hard drive. If anyone wants a copy I'll be happy to pass it on (if you trust me enough to send me a flashdrive that is)

Lizzylou · 02/02/2009 11:17

We love it, DH and I were exhausted and going to go to sleep at 9pm, then we remembered it was on.
It's really good (please don't say they're replacing the lovely vampire? He is lovely)

ProfYaffle · 02/02/2009 11:21

Oh I love this, it's surprisingly intelligent. dh and I really loved the pilot and were really pleased it got commissioned. Last night's was fab, the Tully character was great, especially towards the end, very dark.

Lizzylou · 02/02/2009 11:31

Phew, so this is the new Mitchell, good, he is niiiice.

Annie is great, she plays her really well and I want to hug the werewolf, I am really enjoying this, it's just so different and dark, but still funny. Really good TV.

serenity · 02/02/2009 11:33

They aren't replacing the current Mitchell, he's the replacement.

Original cast from the pilot last year.

Libra · 02/02/2009 11:50

Excellent new series.

I told DS1 that it was 'Twilight for grown ups'.

I definitely think Annie was pushed down the stairs.

Like the bolshy ward sister as well.
