Oh dear... you have one?

KayHarkerDoesNotSimper · 04/01/2009 23:13

holds hands up

Well I haven't been writing any 11th Doctor smut, h'officer. I'm doing two stories right now, and no smut in either - a continuing 10.5/Rose story, and an OC/Ten one. I am pure as the driven slush, me.

Isn't 'Demons' fronted by the dear departed Ross Jenkins of the Sontaran Stratagem? I hope with everything in me that little Mattie has more acting chops than that.

Aitch · 04/01/2009 23:21

lol at that link, kay.

demons was guff, imo.

Quattrocento · 04/01/2009 23:26

Housemum - I take issue with your post - Christopher Ecclestone IS gorgeous. In a no-nonsense tall and Northern sort of way (rather like my DH)

Aitch · 04/01/2009 23:32

oh yes, no question about it, CE is a hunk.

TheFallenMadonna · 04/01/2009 23:33

I much preferred CE to DT. Is that Dr Who heresy?

PortBlacksandResident · 04/01/2009 23:46

No i would say the attractiveness of Dr Whos is inversely proportionate to the actors playing him since McGann (bloody awful storyline with him though and not even sure he actually counts).

Aitch · 04/01/2009 23:49

RTD says he counts. damned colin baker with faint praise, though.

BlackEyedDogstar · 04/01/2009 23:50

just an aside here...Does anyone think the makers of DrWho even realise how passionately us MUMs feel about this and perceive [WRONGLY] the audience to made up of some entirely different demographic profile,ie kids, and don't actually give a toss what we think, since to them, we do not factor.

So they cast teen-doc. Believing, wrongly obviously, that the stalwart followers of DW are children and not their mothers.

Hey, at least it frees up DT to do some post watershed tv

KayHarkerDoesNotSimper · 04/01/2009 23:52

CE - We'll KILL HIM Love it

Fanciable Doctors, are, to me, Peter Davison, Paul McGann, Christopher Eccleston and obv. DT. If I'm in a very odd mood, I can even be induced to smile fondly about Patrick Troughton, and that's an aquired taste, let me tell you.

Tom Baker just makes me laugh, he's too older-brother-ish. William Hartnell looks too much like an ancient Roman senator, Jon Pertwee is Worzel flippin' Gummidge, are you mad, Colin Baker begins twitching and Sylv is just an adorable uncle. I love Sylv.

KayHarkerDoesNotSimper · 04/01/2009 23:56

yes, there was more of the Doctor snogs than Colin. 'tis best. [patronising] Actually, I'm hard on him, but he's not that bad. Old habits die hard, though.

BlackEyedDogstar, I'm really hoping that the fanciability demographic didn't enter the picture. And we don't know what they're going to do with the companion (or indeed, the Master).

Tell you what, though, I'd like to know why, if Moffat wanted an older Doctor, he was auditioning fresh-faced young pups.

Quattrocento · 05/01/2009 00:00

The new Doctor Who is a Massive Disappointment chez Quattro.

I think the Beeb might have got this one wrong with two crucial demographics

  1. The Middle Aged Mum (me) - he is just not remotely fanciable
  2. The Prepubescent Girl (DD) who is currently wailing but "Joseph Paterson is Gorgeous ... and the new Doctor Who looks like a freak..."
Aitch · 05/01/2009 00:10

i do not like joseph patterson. too many teeth.

there, i said it.

BlackEyedDogstar · 05/01/2009 00:18

DS actually wailed when he saw Mat Smith.

I worry that Moffat might Cock It All Up.

Quattrocento · 05/01/2009 00:21

All the better to nibble you with, Aitch

Aitch · 05/01/2009 00:26

i don't think he's that great shakes as an actor, something chilly and retained about him. and i have no idea what i mean by that...

serenity · 05/01/2009 01:07

Tom Baker he was my Doctor. I always fancied the Master though (nothing changed there then )

it's Paterson Joseph btw

Aitch · 05/01/2009 01:13

ha ha of course it is. i was looking at it thinking 'something is WRONG there' but thought i might have missed a t off paterson or something. der.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 05/01/2009 08:40

It's easy to fancy the Master when he's John Simm Serenity . And I thought I was alone in thinking Peter Davidson rather a dish (I was young.....). Clearly not.

Kay, I LOVE that link. Sheer genius.

Right. Work. Phew.... How long was my holiday? Feels like months ffs.

oggsfrog · 05/01/2009 09:40

Oh dear. I really am trying to be open minded about Eleven but keep finding photo's like this that send me running.

On the other hand it has reawakened a teenage-like crush frenzy on Ten and I am madly scouring the net for fixes .

Not having a tv I missed Blackpool. Worth me spending my pennies on getting the dvds?

KayHarkerDoesNotSimper · 05/01/2009 09:53

Paterson Joseph being restrained is good, though. I just keep rewatching the Marquis De Carabas and being wistful about what might have been.

I'm coming to terms with my favourite thing being fronted by a baby-faced youngster just like every other fantasy/sci fi show nowadays. Slowly.

Moffat will not cock it up. He CANNOT. It is completely outside my sphere of reference. Does not compute.

KayHarkerDoesNotSimper · 05/01/2009 09:56

Oh yes, Blackpool is very good. For all sorts of reasons.

oggsfrog · 05/01/2009 10:00

That's what I was hoping .

Enjoyed what I've read up to now of your fanfic

Flightattendant7 · 05/01/2009 10:02

I'm in trouble here. I can't stop thinking about DT. Arghhhhhh

He probably has at least one girlfriend, already, right?

oggsfrog · 05/01/2009 10:09

He's mine I tell you.
