i'm really disappointed she won - there's something about her - I can see her becoming really up herself and being a bit of a one hit wonder. I just don't think we needed another individual singer - we had Leona last year and she's still bringing out good songs and has made it big in the US. I just can't see Alex being on the same scale - I just don't find her as 'likeable' as Leona -
hopefully JLS will still do well though

Think the right person won but can't believe they allowed a fantastic song to be butchered.

They totally missed the point of the song. Made me smirk to see how misguided they both were in their interpretation of the song and the verses that helped the song to make more sense were missed out!

this is without doubt my favourite version.

Glad Alex won - she was by far the most talented of the lot. Though all covers of that song should have been banned after Jeff Buckley. Am glad that the wonderful Leonard Cohen will be making some oney from it though.

Had to feel sorry for Eoghan though - Simon so obviously wanted Alex to win he couldn't even bring himself to encourage people to vote for 'his' (admittedly rubbish) act - cheers mentor .

i can't believe that having started the xfactor thread months ago i had a works xmas party and missed the final

(We were all very sadly watching bits of it on a large telly at the venue- but couldn't turn the sound up)

I would have liked jls to win- i really don't see any point in groups in this competition.

And i really think the choice of winners song is an odd one- as has been said, none of the performers 'got' the song at all!

I am pleased she won cos she was the best but I hated her dress

just been watching it (with ds grumbling because he watched it last night) and was shocked by how rough Boyzone looked- and how odd to have 2 identical groups as the guests- but i guess they got westloife cheap - to make up for how much they must have had to pay Beyonce

Alex was the best singer, but personally am not a fan of shouty divas- and she really didn't come across as a very modest winner- they may have problems with her attitude methinks!!

well her mum is the lead singer in Soul II Soul so she can help with the showbiz/fame side of it

That gold dress Alexanra wore was pants - and so was the first white one she wore. Niether of them were atall flattering.
