Am I the only person in the world NOT to have Sky Plus?

...everyone I meet says they have it.

And when I say something like: "Oh I missed XXX prog last night." They say: "Why didn't you Sky Plus it?" as if it goes without saying that I must have it.

I've got Freeview box and that's it. Am I the only one?

We have Sky for Poor Persons or whatever it is called.

We have no sky at all. Freeview. Oh, and a hard-disk recorder thing. But we mostly watch stuff online, never really watch TV at all.

No - we only have freeview too.

We had Sky before but got rid as we were planning our evenings around what was on television and we wanted to start doing other things.

I don't have it, or freeview, or channel 5. And ITV is a bit dodgy sometimes.

I still have a VCR too slayerette and I don't own a DVD player or have Sky+
I do have Freeview though.

And our freeview is very hit and miss too.

We don't have Sky anything and only discovered Freeview 3 years ago.

My mum has neither and can't even get Channel 5 on her tv.

In fact I remember when there were only 3 tv channels available - and they were part-time!

had cable at old house. am too mean to pay to have it installed in this (rented) house so have freeview.....but send most of evenings huddled upstairs in bed watching old portable with just the 5 channels

never had sky plus. cant stand rupert murdoch (deep seated resentment over how he treated print workers years ago ) so refuse to have sky in any form

I havent got it! Don't want it either. My life does not revolve around watching telly.

We don't have Sky plus or even Sky just plain old freeview and we only got that in about June when we were given a free box.

I don't have sky plus.
I only watch about 3 programmes a week, and if I miss them, I miss them.
I prefer real life.

I work in television, so I'm thouroughly sick of it by the time I get home so I like doing other things.

What is sky plus anyway? As far as I can work out, it is about recording a programme so you don't miss it.

We've been able to do that for years. They're called video recorders!

And so what if you miss a programme? it's only telly.
