I love it.

I am not ashamed to say that i will get totally involved- even though i am too old.

Lets count how many times Louis Walsh says 'westloife'
Watch Simon Cowell look bored rigid.
They will put through a 70 year- just for fun
They will tell a 14 year old she is the next Mariah Carey- and then not put her in the finals- FOR BEING TOO YOUNG!
Everyone one will 'own the song, and make it their own'
or- 'that was a really poor song choice- i blame Louis'
A group WILL NOT WIN.
Marvel at the really poor sob stories!
About half a dozen audtionees will sing 'Valerie/you're beautiful'
Watch Cheryl Cole waste away before our very eyes (how skinny is she????)

I need to get out more

Roll on Saturday!!!

Yes, and you can dress 'Sarah' up and then she invites you to email it to a friend?! or print it out and put it on your wall!!

Aside from perverts, who is going to want a cartoon image of her in a dress and tiara on their wall?

lazarou · 20/10/2008 17:30

The problem with the X Factor is they never give them really good songs to sing. It also waters down any raw talent they may have. I mean, look what Danni Minogue did to Rachel in the first week. She looked like she'd just come from the office.

NosfeRaahhTu · 20/10/2008 17:31

lazarou- that is VERY scary

lazarou · 20/10/2008 17:33

I know, but first you have to go into her room.

NosfeRaahhTu · 20/10/2008 17:39

I don't know what was going on with some of the song choices- i've said before, it doesn't make sense to put them in the final and then sabotage their chances in the first week. Scott is dull, for example, and there at the expense of better singers, but what was Simon doing giving him such an awful first week song?

I think Rachel has lost her spark since she toned down her act and started to 'behave'- it seems to have taken away the rawness she had, imo.

NosfeRaahhTu · 20/10/2008 17:40

into her ROOM???

lazarou · 20/10/2008 17:45

I agree, I really liked her bolshiness at the auditions. I'd love to see her sing this uk.youtube.com/watch?v=kVR3dx8XQ7Y

lazarou · 20/10/2008 17:53

Yes, you click on her room and then you can do all sorts (not in that way).

anniebear · 20/10/2008 20:26

same difference were fab

My kids love em!

AttilaTheMeerkat · 21/10/2008 08:12

"How on earth Cheryl has the gaul to critisise other singers for their pitch problems is beyond me"

Er, actually it was Simon Cowell (btw does anyone else thinks his hair looks like two doormats being pulled apart) who made comments post song about the Girls aloud pitch.

Poundshop Duffy must go not just to say Eurghan!!.

sherazade · 21/10/2008 10:06

''Er, actually it was Simon Cowell (btw does anyone else thinks his hair looks like two doormats being pulled apart) who made comments post song about the Girls aloud pitch. ''

what she meant was, considering how terrible cheryl's pitch was, how dare she judge the vocals of other contestants.

sherazade · 21/10/2008 10:13

Simon chews pencil
Louis says: you made that song your own
Anyone says: you owned the stage
Cheryl: i got goosebumps
Danii/Cheryl to eoghan - you are soooo cute
Anyone says: we haven't seen the best of you yet
Louis and Simon have a bitch about each other
Simon: you are the one to beat
Simon: we haven't seen the best of you yet
Cheryl: I think you're gorgeous
Anyone: you nailed that
Louis:You are potentially the best group in the competition
(when he is down to ONE group!)
Simon pulling funny faces when he thinks it's bad during the performance
Cheryl forcing a smile when she realises the camera is on her during a song
Racheal: I take that on board
Any contestant: I don't want to go home tonight
Louis: that was world class!
Simon: Taking everything into account, that was fantastic
Anyone: you picked a BIG song

lazarou · 21/10/2008 10:50

What about Simon's old chestnut 'Youuuuuuu (in that sing songy way he says it) are potentially one of the greatest singers this country has ever seen'

I hope Ruth goes next week, she's too eighties for me.

lazarou · 21/10/2008 12:09

I think Diana should sing this one by Tori Amos. A bit obscure but I think her voice would suit it really well. uk.youtube.com/watch?v=kOxvO_UTcY8

NosfeRaahhTu · 21/10/2008 14:32

i love Tori Amos, Little earthquakes is a great album, Diana could probably try anything off it. my favourite is China. I'd like to see her do Blowers daughter again, like she did in the auditions.

NosfeRaahhTu · 21/10/2008 14:40

And i feel a bit sorry for Ruth, she will now feel obliged to get her boobs out and sing in Spanish in an attempt to stay in

it's all about the music, innit?

MorticiaAnnSpookington · 21/10/2008 16:54

will every song be half in Spanish ? daft idea

kerryk · 21/10/2008 17:47

there is going to be a lot of pissed mumsnetters this saturday

no-one has added yet the "sack the mentor-terrible song choice" line.

NosfeRaahhTu · 21/10/2008 17:52

ahh, Kerry, i forgot that too- even though i said it on my very first post on the thread!

I am determined to resist the demon drink, but will have to find an alternative.. chocolate? too much herbal tea last saturday!

NosfeRaahhTu · 21/10/2008 17:53

MrsJamin · 21/10/2008 19:02

lazarou and NRT - I used to be a huge toriphile, still have over 30 Tori Amos CDs! I reckon you're right on Diana singing a tori song but it's just not mass-market enough- it's just too risky singing a song people don't know.

I think Ruth will be gone before long, she's 'the spanish one' - it's rubbish how they put people through on one aspect of themselves, like scott is 'the one who was a bluecoat'.

NosfeRaahhTu · 21/10/2008 19:33

MrsJ, you are probably right about Tori, and maybe Dianas vocal is a bit too much on the breathy side. Mind you, i think really she could do anything- at least whatever she does is not likely to be a karaoke copy.

lottiejenkins · 21/10/2008 19:57

The thing with The X Factor is that all the judges rave about the contestants and say they "have a big future" and then they go nowhere,,,, for example Eton Road! Ben Mills! etc etc..............I dont know why they put themselves through it every week when 9 out of 10 of them havent got a "big future"

lazarou · 21/10/2008 20:00

Oh I don't know, the cheeky girls are doing quite well. and I really liked this guy uk.youtube.com/watch?v=m0Q7dytzmdQ

lottiejenkins · 21/10/2008 20:09

I hope your having a laugh!!!!!!!
