was watching 6th sense on itv2 (so it serves me right I suppose on two counts) and it was for Orangina, of all things .

It was possibly the most grotesque, macabre, genuinely frightening set of images and ideas I've ever seen in a advert.

anyone know what I'm on about?

sorry it's just wrong for a product that is fizzy orange juice. If it was for bacadi breezer or something it would be tasteless and upsetting, but aimed at adults.

I am aghast. Please tell me it only goes out after 9pm

tbh it wouldnt appear to appeal to its market which is going to be primarily children...most adults find it completely undrinkable.

Animals lapdancing? Eww!

And am I the only one to find it deeply disturbing that all the 'women' are prey animals and all the 'men' predators?

How they can sell that as a 'love story' is beyond me - it looks like the bear is a customer in a lap-dancing bar at one point - ewwww!

Wrong, wrong, wrong on sooooo many levels!

eeeeew lol. Was not expecting that at all LOL.

Did you see this and this in this week's indie on sunday about this advert?

Dh thinks it's funny that the misogynist and sexual take on this advert are the least of my problems - it's just that I find the whole thing nightmarish and grotesque. I'm the same with clowns, marionette puppets, ventriloquist dolls and anything vaguely animal-mixed-with-human.

I agree moomin - it's bloody freaky.

Marina · 26/08/2008 17:17

I thought it was trashy in the way only the French seem to know how to do
All that animation expertise and money wasted on something so queasy and off-key
Give me Robert Crumb and Fritz the Cat any day if we have to see animals screwing like humans...

Marina - oh please lordy, no. What is this of which you speak?

Google if you dare Moomin. Crumb was a warped genius and one of life's real eccentrics. Fritz was a hugely popular cartoon character, an anthropomorphised cat with big appetites. He is funny where the Orangina ad is...well...weird.
