Raahh · 19/07/2008 21:32

does any one remember Children of the stones?'has to be at least 25 years old, something about a Stone henge circle type , and a picture with a dragon on it? it has haunted me for years...

And I adored Pipkins- maybe i should nip over to the baby name thread and suggest Octavia (must be due a come back, lol)

And i remember the exact week that it was repalced by the RUBBISH 'lets pretend' (was off school at the time and VERY CROSS!).

Raahh · 19/07/2008 21:33

x-posts . south!! (took me so long to type!)

escape · 19/07/2008 21:34

IIRC Chocky was terryfying.
i remember the nosybonk after watching the clip really clearly, but have no recollection of 'jigsaw' - which i must have also watchedf - what else was on it?

Raahh · 19/07/2008 21:38

jigsaw also has Janet Ellis on it, from Blue Peter, i think, it was a kind of puzzle game,( having to guess leter or somethig, with a character called jig, a fully symmetrical puzzle piece) at first but latter series were a bit odd.

Raahh · 19/07/2008 21:39

sorry spelling off, tad drunk

escape · 19/07/2008 21:43

how odd - i remember the jigsaw piece, but not janewt ellis
i'm humming feem toon of 'cities of gold' now, as well as 'willy fogg' after reading this thread and none of them have been mentioned!

Raahh · 19/07/2008 21:47

Willy Fogg - 80 days around the world!
AND- Dogtanian and the three Muskahounds ! (all for one and one for all! - i have the dvd)
My mum and i loved it, and were both WAY too old....

escape · 19/07/2008 21:54

'james the cat' is on kids telly here in dubai.
most shocked to see it was made in 1984
shocked because, when I used to watch it then, it looked 20 years old!

FattipuffsandThinnifers · 19/07/2008 22:04

Oooh what a great thread! Remember most of these (though wasn't allowed to watch ITV when I was a child so missed out on some of then ). Noseybonk - weird creepy person in long white gloves who used to hang around on park benches?! Definitely from Jigsaw, sure it was presented by Janet Ellis and Paul Daniels (or have I made that up?). And Kizzie rings a bell, what was that? Does anyone else remember Josie and the Pussycats, cartoon about some uber-cool girls in a rock band, think they were on a spaceship. Or am I really showing my age?!

southeastastra · 19/07/2008 22:16

lololo at you weren't allowed to watch itv

escape · 19/07/2008 22:21

my mate was not allowed to watch eastenders when it first started - which raised eyebrows at school, but with hindsight we were 7/8 at the time...

MmeBovary · 19/07/2008 22:33

Love the comment that you weren't allowed to watch ITV - nor were we because it was "common" I maust say we grew up on a council estate and my parents were more than happy to watch Benny Hill! I loved Pipkins (so maybe ITV was allowed at lunchtime?) And Rainbow, and wasn't Crown Court on then follwed by the Sullivans? (suffered much from tonsilitus as a child hence many lomg days on the sofa with lucozade and Enid Blyton) Must admit I nearly cried seeing the earlier link to the Double Deckers!

MmeBovary · 19/07/2008 22:34

ITV thing - always Blue Peter as opposed to Magpie. Swap Shop vs Tiswas.....

frumpygrumpysooksgin · 19/07/2008 22:38

LOVED barbapappas!

Anyone remember Jamie and the Magic Torch? He used to shine it on the floor after his light went out and a tunnel/chute would appear. He'd slide down it and have great adventures along with his dog.......never tired in the morning though.

cafebistro · 19/07/2008 22:40

Loved red hand gang and huckleberry finn and his friends.
Does anyone remember 'secret valley'? It was about a childrens summer camp i think.. " I know a valley,i know a valley, my secret valley..."

frumpygrumpysooksgin · 19/07/2008 22:41

red hand gang was ace! Only ever on in the holidays wasn't it?

And "Why don't you" PMSL!!!!!

frumpygrumpysooksgin · 19/07/2008 22:41

I quite fancied Huckleberry Finn.

FattipuffsandThinnifers · 19/07/2008 22:51

Glad I'm not the only one deprived of ITV! Think it was cos my dad disapproved of adverts (he still turns the sound down during the 'commercial break'). Was also banned from Enid Blyton and Dallas. It's a wonder I had any friends with so little to discuss in the playground - I was at a loss as to who JR was, let alone who shot him! MmeBovary, despite neither of us being allowed to watch ITV, I loved the Sullivans too - why would a soap about wartime Australians have so much appeal??

Someone asked earlier about the Ugly-Wuglies. Weren't they creatures made from brooms/paper faces from an E.Nesbit book, can't remember which one.

FattipuffsandThinnifers · 19/07/2008 22:56

Just remembered, ugly-wuglies were from E. Nesbit book the Enchanted Castle. Don't know if it was a TV programme (though maybe it was on ITV so I never saw it!).

DuffyMoon · 19/07/2008 22:58

surely Duffy Moon - I think it was in a series of short films, he could lift really heavy things, if he said to himself ' you can do it Duffy Moon' which is something I still say to myself now......
