Well seeing as I did the threads last year I might as well kick things off again for 2026 now that the first teaser trailer has dropped.

If you haven’t seen it, watch here:

As a reminder, here’s the line up:

  • Amol Rajan – Journalist and Broadcaster
  • Bella Ramsey – Actor
  • James Acaster – Comedian and Podcaster
  • James Blunt – Singer/Songwriter
  • Jerry Hall – Model and Actress
  • Joanne McNally – Comedian
  • Joe Lycett – Comedian
  • Julie Hesmondhalgh – Actor
  • King Kenny – Content Creator
  • Leigh-Anne Pinnock – Singer/Songwriter
  • Maya Jama – Broadcaster and Entrepreneur
  • Michael Sheen – Actor and Presenter
  • Miranda Hart – Actor and Author
  • Myha’la – Actor
  • Professor Hannah Fry– Broadcaster and Mathematician
  • Richard E. Grant – Actor and Author
  • Rob Beckett – Comedian
  • Romesh Ranganathan – Comedian
  • Ross Kemp – Actor and Presenter
  • Sebastian Croft – Musician and Actor
  • Sharon Rooney – Actor

I’m guessing we’ll get 2 women and 1 man as the initial Traitors and hoping the Secret Traitor has been binned.

Will the Big Dog Theory come back? Will we get another Nick/Joe style bromance?

Feel free to espouse your theories on how it might play out.

I don't think that Richard has actually watched past episodes. He literally has no idea.

I am a big Traitors fan and have watched all the UK series, as well as US, Oz and NZ.
Here is a casting issue I mentioned last year and want to mention again. In every series of UK Traitors, one Traitor has always been a WoC. Anyone who watches Traitors regularly will know that. This actually puts a target on the WoC in the game, though of course it's done with good intentions. I hope no one's noticed this and Maya survives, as I like her.

Edited

What is a WoC please?

Are you her PR rep? 😉I didn't know her before Traitors but she does seem very nice!

As a cynical bugger, I'm surprised by the fact that I really like everyone so far. I like Amol as he's a local (to me) working class boy done good. But James Acaster will be such good value.

Ahahaha.. I wish, dream come true career or what?! 🤣 not in the spotlight but still in the circle 🤣🤣

Yes, I like everyone so far. Even Ross Kemps paranoia was quite entertaining lol I’m sure it’ll wear thin as time goes on though… if they ever do get a chance to murder in plain sight, it has to be him 🤣

GameOfJones · 02/10/2026 08:04

I too would have killed Ross Kemp to throw some heat on the others. BUT Maya may be hoping that either James or Amol will throw Richard under the bus...... he's too dangerous as he's a total liability.

PetulaGordeno · 02/10/2026 08:05

I feel for Maya. She’s laughing with and tolerating Richard but it’s now become her job to shield him, which shouldn’t be happening early doors.
And the recruitment of the next traitor is all about - how can we protect Richard?
Richard has not only put himself at risk but his fellow traitors as well. What a dick move. I am sorry but I can’t see the funny side at all.
Be interesting to see how it all develops.
Love James Blunt and Michael Sheen.
Really taken to Maya as well.

Jimsaidpeoplearestrange · 02/10/2026 08:11

late to the party. I hope they recruit James .
the lady traitor is so pretty.

summersweatbox · 02/10/2026 08:13

I’m absolutely loving the chaos. There’s always a danger that celebs will be too nice to each other and it’s a bit dull. Richard bless him whether deliberately or not, has gleefully thrown a grenade and watch the fireworks. Dull it is not. So happy we’ve seen less of Miranda, Michael and Romesh as that mighty mean they featured more heavily in later episodes. I really want Hannah to go far as I’d love to have an insight into her logical brain, and she was the only laugh out moment for us last night (can’t now remember what she said, sorry). Happy autumn y’all!

Frazzledandfried · 02/10/2026 08:15

Placemarking to catch up later. What a cock up from Richard. Gutted because I love him but that was a silly mistake!

dontgiveafigso · 02/10/2026 08:17

I’ve got a feeling RG may regret doing traitors as he’s coming across as quite annoying and ego driven

Superhansrantowindsor · 02/10/2026 08:20

i hope amol is kept in and then him and maya get rid of Richard. They can then recruit someone else. James, Julie or Joe would be good imo.

accidentalmillionaire · 02/10/2026 08:22

Yep, Maya has the smarts, and is having to think for Richard, not for herself.

They'd both be mad not to recruit James and dump Amol. But I'm a bit gutted for Amol, because I quite like him

I've always thought REG was a chronic name dropping show off so wouldn't be sad if he dug his own proverbial show grave

watermybegonias · 02/10/2026 08:32

I thought Richard deliberately said he was a Traitor, to be funny.

You’re saying it’s a dick move- but with no pun intended? 🤣

Please don’t forget it’s entertainment, it’s a game, there is a very clear funny side. I hope you can find a pocketful of happiness in every episode.

I love the show and yes I know it’s entertainment.
I just thought so much of the episode became about one person.
If he goes, and I hope it’s soon, we can get to see more of the others, proper Traitors meetings and general skullduggery.

friedaklein · 02/10/2026 08:42

I read an interview with Richard recently in the Times, and he seems a bit too hung up on his deceased wife, repeating 'a pocketful of happiness' every other sentence and going NC with a lot of his friends for not supporting him adequately.
But he did have a terrible childhood in Swaziland. I think his dad tried to kill him!

I really dislike him now! Still a great actor but yeah, I don't like how he's coming across. He's one of those traitors who seems to think being selected means he's cleverer than everyone else rather than just thought to be a good choice by producers. And obviously everyone wants to be a traitor (well almost everyone) but I don't like it when they're that gleeful about it. They should be more "professional".

MrsMitford3 · 02/10/2026 08:42

I loved Richard E Grant coming into this-someone upthread said he reminded them of the Hugh Grant character in Paddington 2 and now I can't unseen it.

I think Amol is vey smug and def thinks he is smarter than everyone so he might have been amusing as a Faithful but I hope he goes.

I think they did a terrible job picking the 2 for recruitment/murder last night. They should have murdered someone random-not someone who was loudly proclaiming that they suspected Richard.

I adore James Blunt-hope he is a stay-er. There are a lot I don't really know yet and some of the more flamboyant ones getting air time are def sticking their heads above the paraphet-of course it could be editing but last time if someone had a lot of screen time you knew they were out. Once Tom Daley was in the shower he was doomed.

CaveMum · 02/10/2026 08:45

Just caught up on Uncloaked. Ed says they’ve put Claudia’s interviews with the celebs on iPlayer so that’s the weekend viewing sorted!

Love as well that Claudia asked James A what his friends/family said to him before he went in and he said “Well my friend Ed Gamble said ‘See you in 2 days’!”

Ed admitted that he did say that and then said he felt totally vindicated based on the Ep1 ending.

Don’t know if Ed went up to do the post-murder/banishment reveals this time, but on the basis of the “2 days” quip he must have done.

I just loved the way James Blunt turned straight into an Army Officer at the first challenge. You can take a man out of the army ......

Yes it was instant wasn’t it? And rather wonderful
In a similar vein I hope Hannah gets to display some of her maths smarts at some point.

Mydogisagentleman · 02/10/2026 08:52

Loving it.
I have no idea who the influencers are, and have never seen Maya on anything.
Really hope that James is saved, and love JB for his butter your nipples advice.
Still don't know if he was joking

worrisomeasset · 02/10/2026 09:03

If I was Maya, I'd be keen to throw REG under a bus as he's such a liability, and it's possible that this is exactly what she's done. I remember that when they were choosing the two faithfuls to recruit/kill, REG effectively said Maya could make the choice as he'd messed up earlier. With that in mind, it makes a lot more sense to choose Amol and James, who have both been gunning for REG. When one of them is killed, REG will be toast. If she'd wanted to save him, she should have recruited James or Amol and killed Ross. Killing Ross would have really set the cat amongst the pigeons.

I'll be very surprised if they don't work that into a task somewhere.
