Thanks for posting that warning @MyWildOliveGoose I just think, how much more can the writers inflict on one very young character? But I guess it helps raise awareness of what seems to be an increasing issue.

I mean, if Jack would just talk to his kids like a normal parent, Amy would know Craig had been suspended but then.. no one on Eastenders seems to have any concept of safeguarding. 🫣

Do we think Max and the inciting murder thing is Zoe? I’m behind does anyone like Kat know how she hit her head?

I don’t think it can be, incitement to murder means to persuade or pressurise someone else to commit the crime.
But then this is Wadey’s Eastenders so who knows the law may be interpreted.

Zoe told Kat that she fell and hit her head.

storminabuttercup · 11/09/2026 09:46

Ah so someone else must die or nearly die then!

It was Hedonism!

You’re totally right! What a song

Yes Kat knows Zoe tripped and hit her head when stealing the taxi, they discussed it last night.

I suspect Cindy sets Max up for incitement to murder. But it doesn't really make any odds because the police don't seem to think there is a case to answer and let him go. The only potentially interesting thing is who he's supposedly inciting to do the murdering, and who the murderee is.

murasaki · 11/09/2026 12:05

Yes, I can't think of anyone Cindy wants to murder at the moment apart from Max, and she can't set him up for offing himself!

Shellingbynight · 11/09/2026 12:09

Along with that we’ve still got to find out how and why Max saved Jimmy and Ethan (I think it was those two?), why Ethan is with Jack, why Nicola hates Chelsea, why the Vic window is boarded up, why Nicola is wearing a protective boot.

Cindy's dancing was weird, I'm not sure what that was all about.
She's definitely weak, desperate and vulnerable, she told Max she would stay with him.
I'm glad Zoe and Kat sorted it out before she died. I still think her dying is unnecessary, they could have had her driving off in the taxi. It just makes whoever wrote/agreed to this look spiteful, that could be production (they killed her off because of the falling out) or the actress (she asked to be killed off because of the fall out)
Also how is Jean getting away with this? she had no reason to mention Priya, she also wasn't interested in helping Cindy so why did she even bother approaching her. She always preaches to others, yet does as she wants

Edited

I felt there was a bit of spite whey they killed off Kush and it did leave a bit of a sour taste. It was really unnecessary and shines a light on the politics that shouldn't really be seen.

Yes i agree

actually liked the dancing in the Vic, Cindy dancing like a possessed woman having a breakdown, but then Kim giving her some dignity back by dancing with her. I thought it was very a very generous scene and quite moving where Cindy was supported by the whole pub in the dance.

Zoe's death just seemed an afterthought, too much for Kat especially after her angsty recap of their history, though I’m glad she made it up with Zoe in the end.

I also loved the dancing in the vic, it felt raw and a bit messy, which feels real. It was for the women out there who have felt broken like that at some stage in their lives. I definitely have. All I wanted was to feel my favourite song move through my body too. I’ve never felt ‘sorry’ for Cindy as such; but I really did this week.

AntonNewcombesHat · 11/09/2026 20:07

The whole return of Zoe has been an absolute mess! The big fanfare and then her just bumbling from one weird unfinished storyline to the next!! Banging on about her kids & then barely being in scenes with them. The whole trajectory of her character has been a complete waste of time

Eastie77Returns · 11/09/2026 20:57

They could have at least given Zoe a final moment with the twins before she carked it A "we're so glad we found you mum (even though you've barely spent 5 minutes with us since).." scene. I was hoping her demise would lead to the dreaded twosome disappearing but in the NYD flash forward Patrick tells Oscar he's a Trueman now so he presumably gets back with one of them. Sigh.

Also couldn't work out why Jasmine was at Kim's wedding in the hosptial, I thought she was excluded because Patrick can't cope with her being around but suddenly she is part of the family. I didn't find the the hospital scenes moving at all tbh. Dee's illness hasn't been handled particularly well. It was bizarre the doctor said they've found a match but didn't say who it was - presumably Darnell??

Alucard55 · 11/09/2026 22:08

Agree they could've devoted 2 minutes to Zoe and her children that she's just met. Was total nonsense the way they handled it. A woman who has just found her long lost children buggers off to visit her sister for the best part of a month.

mumofoneisonozempic · 11/09/2026 22:12

Catching up on the past 2 weeks with wine

On 31st august and the Hawkins have just arrived 👀👀

Gemma is Diane in Classic Holby which i'm watching as well

The nephew looks so much like Nicola

Priya looks so pregnant 😄 but I like her friendship with Jean 🥺

Eastie77Returns · 11/09/2026 23:09

I agree Ned is a good actor, very natural and he has slotted into the role. The less said about the rest of the family the better. He and Nicola definetly have history. She seems to give in easily to all his demands (a place to stay, job in the bar...case of champagne!) which is very unlike her. He seems to have a hold over her.

storminabuttercup · 12/09/2026 08:23

I still think the kids being saved and Nicola being in a boot has something to do with the community centre…

Shellingbynight · 12/09/2026 08:39

It was completely ridiculous that Zoe did not say a word to either twin. They just stood at the bar gawping at her. But it does reflect the entire ridiculousness of that storyline.

I agree Ned is the only half-palatable one of the Hawkins. And he's definitely had a thing with Nicola, he could even be Harry's dad.

Southeastdweller · 12/09/2026 08:54

From a personal perspective, the only good thing about Zoe’s last story is that it’s made me think about getting help if I or anyone else has a fall. I remember the tragic death of the actress Natasha Richardson, who refused help after a fall whilst she was skiing and died from head trauma.

Long time lurker here.

The actress who plays Nicola’s sister was Diane in Holby. But I loved her in that, so maybe she is going to grow on us. Hopefully not like a fungus.

I feel like it’s going to be a misery fest until NY. We know Linda is leaving so her and Max, won’t have a happy ending. Kat is going to cry all the time.

I did love Kim and Cindy dancing. That was was really touching.

Shellingbynight · 12/09/2026 10:27

@HalleLouja I agree with all you've said.

I really am not here for the Zoe misery fest. It was a mistake bringing her back, but at least it is now not a mistake that can be repeated!

BitLippie · 12/09/2026 13:36

Just got back from a holiday and watched all of last week’s episodes in one sitting. Excuse me for the essay, but…

Good grief! 😮 🤣

I wasn’t expecting all of that! It was Christmas Day-episodes levels of drama and madness 🤣

I have to say, although there were some plot holes and predictable bits (and some downright weird bits, like the Slater cake fight!?!),
I thoroughly enjoyed it all - probably more than I’ve enjoyed watching EE in years.

Loved Kim - her ‘cowboy Carter’ moment, the relocating of the wedding to Denise’s hospital bed (sob), her dancing with Cindy at the end. Tameka Empsom really pulls it out of the bag for emotional scenes. I forget sometimes that she is actually a bloody good ‘straight’ actor alongside all the comic stuff.

The other wedding was bizarre. Who were the sprinkling of random guests?! Why were Oscar and Peetah dressed like waiters? How much did the whole sham cost and who paid for it ? And Linda and Priya both spontaneously driving miles to a country manor to confront/not confront Max was a ridiculous plot.

Gina looked beautiful, though, and despite it being a bit silly to go full bridal gown and veil for your umpteenth wedding in your 60s, Cindy did look beautiful. I like it when the Enders dress up 😆

Max’s heart attack scene was like a bad acid trip lok. He is an absolute bloody car crash isn’t he?! 🤣 Nothing else to say about that, other than good luck Linda!

I still wonder whether Max & Linda’s new luuurve will be thwarted by a surprise return of Mick at Christmas, meaning Linda’s exits with her real true love and Max is left heartbroken just in time for Stacey to return in the new year to mend it…

The Zoe storyline was very odd. There was no need to kill her off (and in such a hastily-thrown-together plot) and cause more heartbreak for poor old Kat. She could have just moved away for a fresh start taking the twins with her (happy ending) or robbed the pub takings and run off to Spain on a drugs bender (for something darker). This felt too dark and unnecessary with all the other drama going on.
