I am also a Radio Times subscriber, as is my sister and as was my mum. It’s my favourite magazine.
That was not a traditional spotted dick,, it was described as sponge, no suet mentioned. That Tom lad was incredibly annoying and not remotely funny

I got the Christmas Radio Times a couple of years ago for the first time in years, at the behest of my DS, who was staying here with his family from abroad. It went missing after a couple of days before we got to choose our viewing choices. It turned up six months later under the sofa seat cushion.

im quite enjoying this series, but thank goodness Tom has gone. I didn’t think anyone could be more annoying than the GC. He would never have coped with working in a restaurant kitchen. I always enjoy the ones where they have to prepare meals for workers or groups of people. I know Jonty occasionally helped out groups, I wonder if Georgio will do the same?

The Dolly Parton thing doesn't surprise me. Pudding has a different , specific meaning in the US and banana pudding is a southern mainstay. Slop. Bleugh .

I'm scared of bananas and there ahs been a few so far. Apparently they are becoming trendy with Gen Z. Possibly because Tik Tokers are making and/or sampling banana puddings.

For those of you who don't indulge in the Radio Times, I offer you this blurb for last night's programme (previously missed but read by me at stupid o'clock this morning.
"I can see why YouTuber TommyInnit has so many social media followers. I giggled at every grimace, smirk and blank expression as well as every unintentionally(?) funny comment and deadpan remark he makes. His cooking isn't that impressive, although describing one of his dishes as "dog food" is a bit harsh."
I have two theories. Either the writer is completely vacuous or someone told him/her to write something positive to head off crticism from viewers for inflicting young Tom on viewers in the first place.
I know everyone is entitled to his/her own opinions but frankly, I don't have to accept or condone them. Sorry if this sounds like OTT ranting but I'm really fed up with the state of the world. In a class of local seven year olds recently, a sizeable number said that when they grew up they wanted to be influencers or YouTubers.😨

The reduction in people saying fewer and replacing it with less drives me mad. My OH thinks I am bonkers to care.

When I taught (in a girls' school) I discovered that my nickname was Margo (as in The Good Life). It wasn't for any physical ressemblance or because I sported a natty line in glamorous caftans but because I was "bossy, opinionated and fussy." Fair enough.

I like to imagine an afterlife where mammypotter might run into my lovely brother who died too young last year. He was the funniest, kindest. most irreverent person I ever knew and he'd make her laugh. On bad days just listening to his voicemails helps me through
