Has anyone watched Maternal Instinct (Netflix) yet?

Has anyone watched the new documentary on Netflix called Maternal Instinct yet? I had never heard of this case before and am just absolutely stunned. 🤯 How can someone have the capacity for such evil?

I think I've just found what DH and I will be watching tonight.

What is it about

I watched it today. Absolutely unbelievable! The lengths some people will go to continue a lie. I was honestly gobsmacked

i won’t spoil it but a woman who fakes a pregnancy goes to unhinged lengths to get a baby in her arms.

I watched today. I’d heard of the case so knew the bones of it but the sheer horror was extremely disturbing. Thing is, the woman reminded me very much of someone I’m dealing with right now so it creeped me out. I’m terms of mannerisms and elaborate lies. What troubled me was that all these people knew she was a wrong’un but of course had no idea the extent of what she was capable of. That chilled me.

There have been a few cases like this.

I haven't watched it yet, but I can already tell that it's going to be mental.

Yes, watched it today. Crazy story. That poor woman and child.

I can't understand how the boyfriend did not realise what was happening at some point. Was he just that gullible? I truly think that what happened would not have happened if he would have directly confronted her and/or ended their relationship.

Oh my god yes! I can’t believe even the drs at the hospital were expecting her to steal a baby 😱
All the lies she told and the lengths she went to 😱
Didn’t think much of Wade - he clearly had dollar signs in his eyes.

Poor Regan and her baby - how do the family ever come to terms with it?

I've just watched the trailer. Can someone tell me how they were able to show the actual footage of her lying on the bed in hospital talking to the police officers? Aren't there privacy concerns for patients in the USA? That surely wouldn't be allowed if this had happened in the UK.

Just started watching it - already appalled!

Such a shocking case, I knew about it but the footage was chilling. Taylor has serious mental problems.
The property thing too, did she just get really carried away with the lies and paint herself into a corner? Was she also planning on trying to steal money somehow to make any of this happen? So bizarre.

It was Police Body warn cameras and she was a criminal? Also could definitely happen in the UK. Have you never seen 24hrs in A&E?

This was so awful - how on earth did she think she was going to get away with it? She must have known she’d have to have a medical examination, she’d already had 2 other kids. Absolutely crazy, poor Reagan. How does a family ever get over something like that

I watched this just now, absolutely shocking. Did it say what happened to the baby or did I miss it? Was she in the car with the baby when the police stopped her or did they find her later ? This was the first time I've heard of this case.

I don't think it's fair to blame Wade,he wasn't the sharpest tool in the box and doesn't sound like they spent any significant time together,it wasn't your normal bog standard relationship.

Bloody hell, when they say life is stranger than fiction, this is it!

It was unbelievable that she was googling adoption and birth mothers at supposedly 9 months pregnant. How did she think her fake pregnancy was going to play out? And pretending she was almost 10 months pregnant whilst still trying to figure out what to do.

I think it was Wade's Mum who said she thought Taylor would have a 'miscarriage' at some point but it just never happened. That's what I would've thought too.

Why oh why didn't they confront her? Then again there's no way they would've thought she'd go to these lengths. Just incredible that she thought she could possible get away with it.

When Wade was told what had happened by the cops he didn't show much emotion at all, just said oh well, looks like my family were right all along. Think he's a bit of an all-round dumbass but he didn't deserve to have that psycho get her claws into him.

Sadly the baby also died. The baby was in the car with her when stopped.

The doctor and nurse at the medical centre who knew she was lying on her social media and were trying to keep an eye on her... they alerted the local hospitals because they thought she would steal a baby, if I recall properly from the film. I am sure no-one could possibly imagine what she was really going to do. Also seeing the sort of frozen horror on the faces of the staff as the police were telling them not to let her leave the hospital... it's clear they realised straight away what had happened- but the reports of a mother being found mutilated had by then already filtered through the news I think.

The whole story is just - well I want to say 'beyond belief' but that does not seem right when you consider all the horrors humans are capable of inflicting. But I feel sort of shell shocked just watching the film.

I watched it last night. I had heard of the case so not as shocked but i agree evil person.

I struggled particularly when she was being interviewed by the police abd she was claiming Regan had told her to take the baby out. When they didnt believe her she simply went."can I go to the bathroom now"..

Amongst a community of stupid people he was the stupidest.

I thought wade and his family were blinded by her supposed wealth, just basic greed really. The talk about the actual crime knocked me , my god what she did was just so crazy and monstrous. The worst thing was the people who knew she couldn't have a child but couldn't tell under hipaa laws , their hands were tied. I really don't know how she thought she would get away with it.

The south of america is typically a belt of stupid. Not all of them. But many of them.

This is another example of dumbfuckistan. Not all of them! But many.

I saw Wade as her enabler and wonder how Reagan's family feel about him. If I was them I'd find it hard to think him entirely blameless.

So tragic.
