Who's up for a watch thread of the new Yellowstone spin off in the Taylorverse starting this week?

Beth & Rip move to Texas to their own ranch and seem to find an adversary in Annette Benning as a nearby ranch owner.. also stars Ed Harris.

Dust off the cowboy hats y'all and pour yourself a 6666 bourbon in readiness!

I’m 3 episodes behind now @NetaporterI’ve not had the motivation. - is it worth it ?

Oh yes. Classic Yellowstone storyline stuff. Plus Annette Benning and Ed Harris.

They must become available quite early in the morning on Fri?

Enjoying Dutton Ranch, but I don’t think The Madison has a strong enough story to keep going. Later episodes were just chewing over the same ground…
Marshalls was just annoying. It started with some promise, but the newer characters to the Yellowstone franchise were just 2 dimensional, and the acting so wooden, the best place for it was in one of the huge ranch house fire places…

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 21/06/2026 17:36

I think @Fifiesta that The Madison will see the family fully relocate and go from there

Still behind on Dutton Ranch

Netaporter · 26/06/2026 16:45

Ooh today’s episode…! Listen very carefully for the plot twist at the end…!!

I miss the Montana landscapes, Texas looks rubbish in comparison

BridgetJonesV2 · 26/06/2026 19:53

Yes, Yellowstone was very picturesque. Texas just looks scorched!

Just discovered this thread and had to join in as a massive Yellowstone / Dutton Ranch fan.

I think a big part of the reason Rip moved the body is because he always wants to be a step ahead of anyone who might cause him or his family harm.

If he’s the only person who knows where the body is, he has leverage. It’s not just about protection, it’s about power too.

I’m loving the new series but didn’t love Marshals and gave up on the second episode. I might go back to it if I run out of other things to watch but even though he is very pretty, Casey is starting to bore me.

Likewise The Madison; I did watch the full series but the scenery and Michelle Pfeiffer carried the whole thing for me. For a series centered around female characters, every single one was terrible. I love Beth but sometimes wonder if Taylor Sheridan has ever met a real life woman.

What did he say! Was he talking to his Father?

EleanorPeck · 26/06/2026 21:31

He said, "Dad, I need your help".

Yep, so he’s not an orphan at all… 😮

So the question is, who is running the Mexican cow thief gig - Rob-Will or Joaquin?

I thought we had worked out his Dad was the man on the phone that Beuhla was talking to earlier in the series?

My guess is he took the blame for the shooting she did, and ran to Mexico.

I feel I’m not so invested in this show, I really don’t car too much about the 10 petal ranch and wish it was more about Beth and Rip starting afresh. Someone also mentioned the scenery - I used to love the shots of the Montana landscape, Texas just seems boring by comparison! Still watching though.

Series finale this morning 😭
Seems a very short series !

ProudWomanXX · 03/07/2026 14:55

Well, that was exciting!!!

youngestisapsycho · 03/07/2026 20:03

Omg! Now the long wait ☹️

Netaporter · 03/07/2026 21:45

Well that was quite the cliffhanger wasn’t it?

I have to say, I enjoyed this way more than Marshalls. Agree the scenery in Montana is hard to top. Assume Taylor has his reasons (💰) as to why he wanted to film in Texas - especially as he owns the four sixes…

I hope we'll see a cross over, with Rip and Beth calling on Kasey for help

I’m still very behind but Taylor Sheridan is only executive producer on this he’s not showrunner. I think it’s a vanity credit because Yellowstone and those characters belong to Taylor. I don’t think he speaks to Cole Hauser anymore I wonder whose decision it was. Think it may have been financial

I have found this series quite odd as in the storyline. It was if the scriptwriters had been swapped out half way through as it changed from a family saga into a western style shoot ‘em up 😬.

I’m sure I’ve read that 3 characters from Yellowstone feature in the next series- I forget their names but it’s the old cowboy, the girl with the unintelligible accent and the young ranch hand who went off to 666. I’m looking forward to that.
