Who's up for a watch thread of the new Yellowstone spin off in the Taylorverse starting this week?

Beth & Rip move to Texas to their own ranch and seem to find an adversary in Annette Benning as a nearby ranch owner.. also stars Ed Harris.

Dust off the cowboy hats y'all and pour yourself a 6666 bourbon in readiness!

Please can somebody list the whole set of Series based around Yellowstone, up to the current programmes?

I recall watching 1873, 1922 and Yellowstone, but had no idea that other spin off dramas had followed these.

I'd love to catch up on them all in chronological order, any help would be appreciated, thanks

There are only two yellowstone soin-offs so far:

Marshalls - follows the life of Casey Dutton post the finale of Yellowstone

Dutton Ranch - follows Beth and RIP post Yellowstone finale.

The ‘Taylorverse’ is shows created or inspired by the Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan but are not connected to the Yellowstone story include:

Lioness
Landman (the most watched show after Yellowstone in the US)
The mayor of Kingstown
The Madison
Tulsa King

All are very different but excellent in their own right and feature some of the best actors.

Oh that little brown calf
Broke me I cried
Hard reality of farming

I started watching Landman based on the recommendation given here but gave up after ep2 as thought the female characters were so badly drawn, and couldn’t bear the old men perving over the young women, so misogynistic.

Me too. Couldn’t get past episode two for the very same reasons.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 03/06/2026 20:42

I also gave up on Landman after a couple of attempts

Finally caught up to last weeks, something bad will befall Carter, I can feel it in my bones. They’ve had no luck in Texas.

New episode on Paramount + now. Watching it, looking good!

Netaporter · 05/06/2026 20:24

The story is not going where I thought it was… but Beth has something afoot… mark my words…

Apart from the 1883 spin off which I thought was very good most of the female characters in the wholwholee franchise are very poorly written.

I think Landman is actually a lot more nuanced on the female characters. Yes, the wife/mother is crazy but actually, over time, her character becomes very interesting and there are definitely suggestions that she's also a bit mentally unstable/ dealing with trauma that comes out in strange ways. And ditto, the daughter is a product of a certain type of environment. She's clearly not stupid, and yet she comes across as ditzy and over time, again, it feels like what they're showing is how she's been brought up, what she's been exposed to, what's been expcted of her.

Having said that, I think all these shows in the Taylor universe, with the possible exception of Marshalls, do very much show women through the male gaze, even when they're powerful in their own right (eg Beth or the Michelle Pfeiffer character in Madison).

But, I was watching a movie with DH last night and I realise that one of the reasons I really do prefer TV over moies is that at least in TV shows there ARE female characters. So many movies are entirely about men.

Ha, I got it right about Rip working for Petal10! Well done me 😀

ProudWomanXX · 11/06/2026 00:02

Omg, our fibre went down on Monday and the estimate was for it not to be fixed for at least two weeks.

(I live VERY rural!)

My first thought was "how can I watch Dutton Ranch, Clarkson's Farm and Rivals on my phone, do I have enough data?"

Thank fuck it's been fixed today!

My worst fear…Before fibre my download speed was 0.9mbps.. if we wanted to watch a film on a Sunday we’d start downloading it on the skybox on Friday evening 😂

Glad you got it fixed!

I'm so relieved,!

😂 That scene definitely had Yellowstone vibes written all over it. Beth and Rip still have that same chemistry too. Looking forward to seeing how they settle into ranch life in Texas because I doubt things are going to stay peaceful for long. Beth's wardrobe has already caught my attention again as well.

Which scene do you mean?

I meant the ranch scenes with Beth and Rip where they’re just together and you can see their chemistry. Those quieter moments always feel like classic Yellowstone

ProudWomanXX · 16/06/2026 15:15

Ah, ok!
Yes, the everyday life scenes are always excellent. They have real chemistry.

Netaporter · 19/06/2026 17:38

Oh my. Today’s episode is an absolute belter.

I’m 3 episodes behind now @NetaporterI’ve not had the motivation. - is it worth it ?
