As promised on the TMS thread, here is the Brits thread, to discuss the ceremony as it unfolds. Hosted again by Jack Whitehall.

It's a long one, folks. Grin

And for those who don't live here, it's in Manchester (and they have been making a big deal of this), at the Co-op Arena . Harry Styles is performing (he's a Co-op Arena shareholder Grin )

Other performers include SOMBR and RAYE- and others who use a lot of capital letters.

So- join me, to discuss the dodgy outfits, iffy singing, and reminisce about 'back in the day' Grin.

The Nominees

Predictable.

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 28/02/2026 22:33

Oh fuck off

JaneJeffer · 28/02/2026 22:33

Has Jeff got his hunky bodyguard with him?

notmuchtoit · 28/02/2026 22:33

Lily Allen does that annoying talk singing.

JasmineMac · 28/02/2026 22:33

Olivia Dean again 🥱 Sam's been robbed.

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 28/02/2026 22:33

She’s annoying

CandiedPrincess · 28/02/2026 22:33

Think Lily Allen probably deserved that but she’s clearly not there so….

Frankiecat2 · 28/02/2026 22:34

I would have absolutely loved it if Lily had won. I’m sure Olivia Dean is great but I’m a bit meh

soupmaker · 28/02/2026 22:35

Not sure I can stomach much more Jack Whitehall

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 28/02/2026 22:36

Me and DH almost excited by the fact we have actually heard this song

MadisonAvenue · 28/02/2026 22:36

Raahh · 28/02/2026 22:29

I agree with this, as a Mancunian- too many of Jack's jokes are a bit north 'south divide and relying on 'us northerners' being a bit dim.

I’m in the Midlands but spend a lot of time in Manchester (I’ll be there tomorrow) and feel a tad insulted by his ‘jokes’.

dapsnotplimsolls · 28/02/2026 22:36

Stop trying to pretend that your song is interesting.

JasmineMac · 28/02/2026 22:36

I'm noticing the young team are favouring 70's fashion. Even the hair is very 70's.

Raahh · 28/02/2026 22:36

The sound/backing is a bit off, can hardly make out the lyrics- and I know what they are.

Those awards look like 80’s bubble bath Christmas presents

notmuchtoit · 28/02/2026 22:37

He has nice curly hair anyway.

CandiedPrincess · 28/02/2026 22:37

What was that?!

His mouth was too close to the mic

Does anyone else think Seventeen Going Under sounds like The First Picture of You?
(only 80’s girlies need apply)

Just listened to the two, one after each other. I get why you think they sound similar, although they are different.

Yes, it has been a bit too much 'It should still be in London' really.

Proper angsty music this.

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 28/02/2026 22:39

What was that all about?

Datgal · 28/02/2026 22:39

Love sombr.

CandiedPrincess · 28/02/2026 22:39

I’m assuming that guy pushing him off wasn’t part of the act

JasmineMac · 28/02/2026 22:39

Was the stage invasion part of his act?
