As promised on the TMS thread, here is the Brits thread, to discuss the ceremony as it unfolds. Hosted again by Jack Whitehall.

It's a long one, folks.

And for those who don't live here, it's in Manchester (and they have been making a big deal of this), at the Co-op Arena . Harry Styles is performing (he's a Co-op Arena shareholder )

Other performers include SOMBR and RAYE- and others who use a lot of capital letters.

So- join me, to discuss the dodgy outfits, iffy singing, and reminisce about 'back in the day' .

The Nominees

Saw them live this year and loved them.

The Brits have always did this. Reminded of PJ Harvey, she was nominated for about 20 years running, when all but no one had heard any of her music 😂

I always wait for Wolf Alice songs to get going but they never do. They just drone on.

This is the kind of song that makes me change the channel

It’s not bad it’s just dull. And not very memorable.

I love wolfalice. This isnt one of their best songs though. Bloom baby bloom really shows her range.
CMAT pretending to be devastated at not getting an award really made me laugh. She is very funny in interviews. Her set at Glasto was great. We will see her at a festival later this year and I am so excited!

I dont know who did the choreography for tonight though 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Well, I like Wolf Alice.

I would have preferred a different song to this- although I like it.

It’s been pretty biased to the ‘Brit School’ lot since I was young (and that’s not yesterday). Rarely seemed to reflect what people were actually listening to.

Sofa ... sounds a bit like ... suffer.

There’s actually quite a good story behind why they covered it.

I’m younger than 54 BUT I did see the Mondays back in ‘99 on one of their reunion tours. They were on stage for the 20 minute legal minimum.

I can’t imagine watching something like that live. Like, what do you do? Sway along mildy? Have a little seat?

Why did they not show these very important awards live??!

Maybe they're more likely to go rogue and say whatever?
