A fresh faced John Carter has just arrived for his first shift and I’m about to lose about 200 hours to watching a 30 year old tv show.

Have you seen it before?

I watched it the first time round. Then watched the whole thing again on dvd 19 years ago while bf DD1. Then have watched it with DD in the past couple of years, so far up to series 13. A few questionable bits like 'cure autism' posters, but mostly it stands up to rewatching. Love it.

@IDreamtOfManderley yes, I remember watching the first episode with my mum when it originally came out and thinking it was the best thing I’d ever seen. Totally ruined casualty for me!

@Runnersandtoms i rewatched it when I was feeding DS1, who’s about to turn 15. I think there a few of us watching, feeding babies and posting about it on mumsnet. Where do the years go!

Same! Have seen it all through multiple times. Would record it when E4/More 4 were showing it in the mornings about 2006/7? Watched odd episodes in the middle of the night when they were showing it then if I couldn't sleep. Last few series were less good but there's a solid 10-12 years I'd watch again anytime. Might be time to retire.

Haha I loved Casualty until I saw ER. It just didn’t compare.

I watched the first episode yesterday. I am a massive ER fan. I have watched the whole series again a few years ago. The acting is so good. Carter does indeed look like a baby! Love it so much, preparing to cry in most episodes.

My daughter is an ED doctor because of ER ... she probably watched far too much of it at an early age. She didn't have a graduation ceremony because she graduated just at the start of the Pandemic, I messaged Noah Wyle and he sent her a signed photo of him as Carter ❤

I know someone who was a bit surprised when ER started. She had always thought her husband was ok but a bit nerdy looking. To her surprise she discovered that he was an overnight sex god since he had a remarkable resemblance to Dr Green.

I have just started this, I haven't seen it before even though I'm old, I am enjoying it, fortunately it seems the type of thing I can pace myself with so expect it to take a while to get through, I guess Netflix should keep it for at least a year so I can watch with no ads.

Fond memories of watching ER for the second time whilst breastfeeding my firstborn who is about to turn 15. I’m going to suggest watching it again with her, hopefully she’ll indulge her sentimental old mum.

I used to watch qith my mother too and rewatched when I had my last baby who's 15 now . I'm due a rewatch ,second time around I had forgotten a certain death and it knocked the wind out of me .

Yes I found I had forgotten so much and was still surprised/shocked by certain moments including deaths when re-watching.

I was so excited when I saw it had come onto Netflix. I've seen the first 8 series or so 2 or 3 times over the years and then bits and pieces of the rest. DS discovered it on More4 around a year or so ago and loved it and got to the second series before it went. He's at uni now. I'll try and get through the whole lot this time. Each time I watch I think what a great character Benton is and how I didn't recognise that at first as I was so distracted by George Clooney.

I watched it first time around and then in 2005 as well! Recovering from surgery my mum bought me a box set.
It is just as good as I remembered.

I love the Benton-Carter relationship.

I don't think I've seen many of them but the characters seem a bit familiar in the first episode.

but it was annoying with adverts,
i got up to the doctor having her sister's baby.
i mean it was a rewatch as i did watch it previously but am not sure where i got up to, i remember Luka <<soon>>
