Winter Olympics 2: ‘Gold, always believe in your soul

For all things Winter Olympics related.

I , for one, have enjoyed the curling a lot. And lots of other things as well.
Apart from the hockey. I don't do hockey.

Lots of women fell in the speed skating.

Just watching.

I love all the curling shouting - HARD HARD HARD.

Plus when they’ve discussed which shot to play they agree with an understated ‘I like that’.

Who remembers Elise Christie in the short track speed skating?

I think it's great- it really is chess on ice.
And at least no-one is likely to get really injured, which is a big theme of Winter sports (although some did trip over and fall yesterday).

I remember her very well- she came into it, with massive hopes of a medal. I have to say, I didn't like her much. She seemed to blame everyone else for her mistakes. It never seemed to be her fault when things went wrong . Was it 2018? rings a bell.

Yes!! Went in to the Olympics as world champion twice I think and had terrible luck. Short track is brutal

I know she had won the worlds numerous times and was really expected to do well.
I think she was disqualified a few times in Sochi, and and was injured the following Olympics.

Sochi 2014 she tangled with Ariana Fontana, got online abuse for taking out a Korean skater and got DQs for missing the finish line and other crashes. In Pyeongchang she picked up an ankle injury and did try to carry on but crashed out and had to be helped off the ice.

But yes, nothing was ever her fault.

I don't like the ice relays. They look too messy having them all crowded on a rink together. I don't know who's doing what and lose interest.

But the bum push is hilarious 😆 it just doesn't feel like it belongs in an Olympic sport

Actually, the bum push is funny. It needs a bigger rink.
Why don't they have a baton? Or a little tag like kids rugby.

I don't understand the indoor cycling one where they all cycle together then speed up at the end. Maybe it all makes me too dizzy.

The bum push is great- I just wait for someone to trip up.

It’s very balletic when the incoming skaters join the race in front of their team mate.
