Opening ceremony tonight, from 6.30pm on BBC2. Surprised it’s not on BBC1.

Best so far was the Italian national anthem

It reminds me of one time I went to Venice in winter. I'd never really "got" Vivaldi, thought it was a bit corny, but I was listening to one of his works on headphones walking through the streets where he'd lived, all spikey angled bursts of sunlight and deep shadowed corners, and suddenly it all made sense.
