Well, we soared through the last thread again, so here's a shiny new one!

Corrie is pretty much based around the tragic death of Billy at the moment. Bernie is starting to lose the plot a bit, and ended up in a hotel room with a strange man who is the husband of someone Roy has been chatting to. (It's all a bit confusing!!!) Then she ended up unconcious in the ladies toilets!

Todd and Theo are still together - annoyingly - and Carl (Debbie's brother) has just heard Theo blabbing to Billy in his coffin how he's not a murderer, and he should have saved him, and so on. A guilty conscience, or self pity? (I'm guessing the latter.) Carl was listening (conveniently!) and smirked when he heard Theo 'confessing,' but I'm not sure what he's going to do with the information. Especially as shortly after, Theo saw Carl doing some dodgy dealing with some blokes, and he photographed him. So, they now have 'something' on each other!

Not much happening with the Driscolls at the moment, and Ma Driscoll and Eva have called a truce. But for how long???

Shona and David's new little baby (Harper) is still a bit fragile.

Shiny faced Megan Trainer the Siren who has men (and boys) eating out of her hand, is showing an unpleasant, dark side, after practically threatening Sam (Nick's son) if he blabs anything about her and Will.

And Carla and Lisa have inexplicably made up, as if nothing has happened. On the plus side however, at least we have got rid of the dreadful Undead Becky storyline.

Probably some more bits and bobs to discuss, but I'm sure we'll get to them soon.

Dunno why Bernie was in my tv guide as a suspect then!

Possibly the producers etc think the more dramatic (insert your own alternative word 🙄) storyline the more likely they'll get an award.

I think they are desperate to generate interest and media stories with the use of these flash forwards/backs and mysteries. But most viewers seem to hate it, and none of it really goes anywhere.

EastEnders are currently trying to generate interest with the return of characters from the ancient past like Zoe and others. That isn't working either!

I remember when she was smoking skunk, funniest scenes since Bouncer's dream sequence in Neighbours

It is making watching feel more like an ordeal!

I think Corrie has completely lost track of the type of viewers most of us are. The types of people they seem to be trying to attract to watching it never have and never will watch Corrie. They need to pass the shite scripts they are writing to Hollyoaks, the stories would be more welcome there.

Izzy was also charged with assaulting a police officer, she ran her wheelchair into him while being arrested.

Add Kevin to the prison list - he's just had a quick spell inside on Classic. Also Shona's son, Clayton.

Yes my TV mag shows Bernie along with Carl, Lisa, Todd and Shona whereas another TV mag in the shops showed a different picture but I can't remember whom that 5 were but one was Theo.

So are we supposed to think we are being shown the murderer or the murdered ?

There is another long list of people who have got away with crimes.

Daniel was full of outrage about Will but he nicked Debbie's car when he was drunk

There are so many crime shows on TV, it seems ridiculous to turn Corrie into one

Of course one of them may also be the killer (Ma Driscoll-Megan, Carl-Theo).

@Fbfbfvfvv Yes they really do not know their audience. I think they are trying to attract younger people but is that not going to happen and they are alienating the viewers they've got.

Didn't Daniel shove ken downstairs? I know David shoved Gail downstairs.

I can’t imagine Daniel , the English teacher , pushing his dad down the stairs !
I can, however , imagine David being nasty , didn’t he once lose it and smash up a lot of cars ?
I think he has calmed down a lot now though .

Yes Daniel shoved Ken down the stairs, I can’t remember why now though.

It was soon after Daniel arrived. He resented Ken for leaving him without a father. Denise abandoned him when he was 15 and he was looking after himself alone. He hit him with a book (of course 😆)

He is in many ways Mini Ken now, a sanctimonious teacher who makes bad choices.

And add to Daniel’s things in common with Ken llist - putting women above his child!

@Nevermind17 that is a long list, most of which I’d forgotten or didn’t remember but don’t forget Roy. I don’t think he was on the list

There was a bible/book involved I think, He also pushed Max down the stairs.

David pushed his mum down the stairs and I think Ma Driscoll pushed her husband down the stairs, she certainly left him to die at the bottom.

Bungalows are the way to go in Corrieland.

@Shellingbynight It was partly that, but it was also because Sinead was pregnant and Ken encouraged her to have an abortion, as Daniel had a place to do a Master’s at Oxford.

This being Corrie, Daniel didn’t do anything nuts like see if he could do the Master’s at Manchester University instead. But he did somehow do a PCGE without ever attending university, putting all dreams of academia behind him.

At least you all only have a few weeks until you discover who is doing what and why! Seems more sensible than an entire year for the flash forwards to make any sense.

I can't remember when the real rot set in, but at least 5 years ago. The new half hour formats help as it's easier to sit through but aside from that it hasn't improved.😕

Just a thought. If undead Becky is indeed undead, surely Lisa needs a divorce before she can marry Carla? Or is she still dead to the authorities? And what about Costello? Is he in a nice police convalescence home? Who’s in charge of Weatherfield nick?
