Welcome to Thread 9 of Traitors 2026.

This thread runs at TV pace so do not read any further if you are not up to date with the live broadcast. Whilst most discussion will be on the current series, inevitably people will refer to previous series/players/winners so reader beware if you’ve not seen the 3 previous editions, or the celebrity version.

While we welcome posters discussing their theories and speculating on relationships/connections between players, please don’t post spoilers from elsewhere that may ruin things for those of us who like to see things unfold over the course of the series.

The story so far <spoiler warning if you haven’t seen the start of episode 9>

Oh yes! Let's discuss them all then.

We might do, if it comes up.

The first post on the thread makes it clear that other, old series might be discussed. If you're that determined not to see any mention of stuff that happened in a series that aired almost three years ago, it's not the thread for you.

Pollygrip · 19/01/2026 09:14

Just caught up so a bit late to the [dinner/cheese] party on this but does anyone else wonder what they talk about all day? Surely they must share some details of their personal lives and can’t spend the entire time discussing theories and missions.

Would any of them really not know until the dinner party that Roxy was adopted or that Rachel wanted to take her mum on holiday? Are they told to hold back on this info, or told to look surprised at the big reveals? I can understand Jade not disclosing her past until that point but I think Faraaz might have mentioned that he wanted to visit Mecca, or that James wanted to buy a new car (was that it? So boring I can’t even remember now)

Presumably it’s for the viewers’ benefit but all feels very stilted as they go round in turn to say their piece.

Hobnobswantshernameback · 19/01/2026 09:19

And anyone who has watched uncloaked will have been "spoilered" as they have previous contestants on every episode and make it very clear whether they were traitor or faithful and talk about stuff that happened
So by that logic Uncloaked should only interview people from this series and would make no mention of previous series or even episodes earlier in the current series
ye gods it really isn't that deep
Anyway back to who shot JR....

peacefulpeach · 19/01/2026 09:25

Jock JR Miss Ellie Sue Ellen Bobby Jenna Lucyyyyy.. they all live in a palace in Dallas made by the BbbbBC! 🎶 🎶

(ok maybe not the bbc, but as kids it didn’t matter..)

PinkPanther57 · 19/01/2026 09:25

Are they planning another celeb programme? I know Miriam Margolyes turned it down. Many did.

Hobnobswantshernameback · 19/01/2026 09:26

We used play at Dallas when we were kids
I always wanted to be Pam
but sadly in true type casting fashion I was always Sue-Ellen 🤣

Beachtastic · 19/01/2026 09:27

I watched a few Uncloaked yesterday (rainy afternoon), never watched it before. And now I feel awful for being mean on here about Amanda and Harriet, who were so happy to laugh at themselves for their antics.

Honestly, if I can get wound up by people being annoying in the castle, after just an hour of watching them in the castle, I dread to think what I'd be like in there!

Yes. Strong rumours that Tom Hiddlestone is desparate to be on it, and in talks...

cariadlet · 19/01/2026 09:29

Re spoilers, I'm very new to Traitors. There were so many trailers that I was bored with it before it had started!

I caught an episode of Celebrity Traitors when I was channel hopping and was hooked straight away. This is the first series that I've watched from the beginning and seen every episode.

There have been loads of spoilers for me on this thread and Uncloaked but I think that's my fault for being late to the party.

Tbh, there are so many references to so many different people and incidents that I'm pretty sure that I'll forget most of them. So far, the only thing that's stuck for me is Harry and Molly.

I’d immediately have a ‘feeling’ he was a traitor. I wonder how they eliminate cheats or those with tendency to ‘bend’ rules? I’d be tapping up staff for pen & paper for starters or improvising with eye liner.

Traitorsyay · 19/01/2026 09:44

Gosh these threads are moving fast! This thread is nearly full and i've not managed to catch up nor comment.
Last night I was puzzling with dc and we could hear the traitors on in a different room. Well it was so comical hearing it but not seeing it, Matthew was hilarious, he has completely gone mad thinking he will be recruited. He said something along the lines of he is having to play at being faithful, my dc was laughing saying how he is a faithful, there's no playing at it.

oh she’d have been unbearable.

SunandWine · 19/01/2026 10:51

Me miss. I remember who shot JR.

Re Rachel, I don’t think it’s a coincidence that someone who’s profession requires her to keep calm and lie when it’s necessary to keep the show on the road, has been able to keep calm and carry on lying. What is interesting in my view, is that the younger players seem more influenced by her than the older ones, and especially the older women. And yet Amanda, Fiona and Harriet all blew their own feet off so maybe the younger players have it right after all.

I’m looking forward to seeing how Stephen plays it this week. It maybe editing, but at the beginning he seemed to be a rabbit in the headlights, but his rationale in the tower in the last few episodes has shown his strategic side. I think Rachel isn’t going to get this all her oen way.

Forget Will Smith GIF by Bounce

It helps if you have a head like a sieve. Leanne got mentioned so often on here and I eventually decided to google her yesterday because I couldn’t think who the heck she was.

Well, she's significantly older than the younger players so they may look to her to lead, but she's also significantly younger than Amanda, Harriet and Fiona, so that might explain it. The younger ones don't really have it right, though; they are staying in the game but if any Traitor does too, they're sunk. They've just been fooled longer!

It's a problem that intelligent and interesting people tend to get eliminated quickly.

SunandWine · 19/01/2026 11:22

I’m also not sure if applies to Harriet, but Amanda and anyone who has worked in any frontline public service role, so possibly Fiona, will have learnt a long time ago to avoid Heads of coms. Younger people working in influencer or media adjacent roles not so much.

BlueLimes · 19/01/2026 11:25

It’s so tedious how intelligent and interesting people are eliminated early.

Reece seemed really nice too, genuine and humble, it’s horrible when all the nice people are picked off like the Dr in series 2(?) that was dreadful to watch and felt like bullying. But people like Leane are left alone due to their tantrums.

Bouledeneige · 19/01/2026 11:29

I just thought I’d step in to say I don’t think we should characterise Comms Directors as professional liars. (I’m not one by the way). They do have professional ethics and understand the importance of telling the truth - but knowing how to present or spin positions and being prepared for tricky questions/thinking on your feet is central to their jobs.

CharlotteRumpling · 19/01/2026 11:29

If I ever went on and was a Faithful, I would pull a Leanne. I have quite a bolshy face anyway..So will stare everyone down.

SwedishEdith · 19/01/2026 11:36

Head of Comms could mean loads of things, depends how big the organisation is. I'd think if it was for a relatively big organisation or a public body, that would be well paid. Well paid enough to take your mum on holiday.

I also think it's mad how quickly the faithfuls pick off other faithfuls they perceive to be very intelligent/educated. The doctor was a classic. He was such a great faithful and a lovely guy and they suspected him on the basis that he was intelligent and a doctor!

Bouledeneige · 19/01/2026 11:40

I agree that it’s a shame they kick out the most educated and independent thinkers at the beginning so that they can rush like headless chickens from one suspicion to the next over the ensuing weeks and murders.

But from players' perspectives, I can see how it happens. Smart people with clout are a threat to Traitors and a worry for Faithful.
