Welcome to Thread 9 of Traitors 2026.

This thread runs at TV pace so do not read any further if you are not up to date with the live broadcast. Whilst most discussion will be on the current series, inevitably people will refer to previous series/players/winners so reader beware if you’ve not seen the 3 previous editions, or the celebrity version.

While we welcome posters discussing their theories and speculating on relationships/connections between players, please don’t post spoilers from elsewhere that may ruin things for those of us who like to see things unfold over the course of the series.

The story so far <spoiler warning if you haven’t seen the start of episode 9>

Jade really reacts badly to anything directed at her. It was quite uncomfortable watching her tonight.

AuntyAngela · 16/01/2026 22:59

It's just amazing that so many of them voted Rachel as the person who would be the best Traitor, yet not one of them then thought "Hmmmm, wait a minute". 😆

Also Roxy thinking James could be a Traitor. He'd have come out the selection bit and have revealed he was a Traitor before the first round table 🤣

Zillyzillyzillymouse · 16/01/2026 23:00

Rachel Is an excellent traitor. I hope she wins and takes Stephen with her.

cloudtreecarpet · 16/01/2026 23:00

LighthouseLED · 16/01/2026 22:55

There hasn’t been any evidence against any of them, though. Being accused is just part of the game.

There is often evidence in something someone has said or done.

For example, people taking shields for themselves could be seen as evidence of traitorous behaviour or being quite vocal with opinions/gossip.

My point is that Jade has never done anything like that but still gets "heat" on her.

I think whatever psychological testing they do should probably have weeded her out. She just doesn’t seem to be able to handle any accusations, at least from what’s been shown.

EdithBond · 16/01/2026 23:02

Clafoutie · 16/01/2026 22:50

I respectfully disagree! I don’t think we’ve seen any evidence that she expects to win. I feel that what can be perceived as hard as nails can equally be laser focus. ( I also think that what is admired as laser focus in a man is hard -and -therefore-unlikeable in a woman) I am not meaning to sound like I am accusing you of this, I hope it doesn’t come across like that, just a more general observation of how women who do well as Traitors seem to attract more criticism about their ‘likeability’ than men. I think we saw similar with reactions to Charlotte in the last series.

Rachel strikes me as someone who’s bricking it a lot of the time but trying her hardest to stay calm, focussed and strong.

It’s quite possible she doesn’t fully appreciate how well she’s playing. Like many women who come across as confident but have imposter syndrome.

And, as Jade’s revelation’s illustrated, important not to judge people’s behaviour when we have no idea of what’s happened in their life.

EchoedSilence · 16/01/2026 23:03

Rachel is a traitor and is playing the traitors game.As she should. That's the whole point of the bloody game.

We don’t see everything, but her overreaction to being accused the first time I saw it would have made me suspicious of her tbh.

BlueLimes · 16/01/2026 23:05

I’m not sure Rachel would have been more likeable as a faithful.

cariadlet · 16/01/2026 23:07

LighthouseLED · 16/01/2026 22:50

I hope people leave Jade alone now they know her terribly sad back story & why she's quite guarded. I have thoroughly disliked the way she has been picked on for no real reason.

I don’t think she’s been picked on more than some other people (e.g. Sam).

Yes, Sam was a accused of being a traitor at many round tables by many people but didn't seem to take it personally.

I don't think either of them had it as tough as poor, lovely Reece.

EchoedSilence · 16/01/2026 23:09

The traitors don't need to be likeable to us, the viewers. They just need to be likeable to the Faithful.

Clafoutie · 16/01/2026 23:10

For me, an example of Rachel’s cool-headedness under pressure came in the mission. At one point when she was giving her choice of name she had to refer to ‘ them and us’ ( as in Traitors and Faithful’) It would have been so easy to slip up and get that the wrong way round.

BlueLimes · 16/01/2026 23:10

I don’t think she is - I think they are intimidated by her.

CoffeeWithMyOxygen · 16/01/2026 23:10

saltandvinegarchipsticks · 16/01/2026 22:44

Australia season two. Absolute car crash all the way through.

How did that work for nobody to win? I’ve never seen the Australian version!

Stowickthevast · 16/01/2026 23:13

I think Rachel has played an excellent game and kept very cool under pressure. She obviously is popular in the house particularly with the younger women - Jade, Roxy and Ellie - who don't suspect her at all. She's managed to have two people openly accuse her and be voted out without coming under any suspicion. She has also led the charge on several faithful and still managed to remain trusted despite being proved wrong.

Stephen has also managed the heat on him well without getting too flustered by it and has shown he can think strategically. I actually think they've been a great pair of traitors who've shown how effective you can be as a team. I'm normally supporting the faithful but since we've lost Harriet and Jessie, I do think the traitors deserve a win.

Roxy gives me very strong Leanne vibes - I really don't want to see her win and am indifferent about the others.

BlueLimes · 16/01/2026 23:10

I don’t think she is - I think they are intimidated by her.

Then that's a good tactic? They should have the balls to stand up to her.

Wouldn’t mind winning

They’ve been a great Traitor team!

Jessie said on Uncloaked she's not related to him in any way.

WimbyAce · 16/01/2026 23:15

I was reading elsewhere is there any hope at all that some do suspect Stephen/Rachel but waiting til the final to out them? I don't see it but I just can't understand how no one even mentioned them at round table?!

MY STUPID BASTARD TV! It hasn't been right since the storm last week! Only bbc1 obviously

Skipping and hiccuping all over the place. I know there's something about a dagger but don't know what!

@WestwardHo1 can you watch it live through Iplayer?

WimbyAce · 16/01/2026 23:21

Allthatwegotisthispalebluedot · 16/01/2026 22:34

Some of the criticism of Rachel on here isn’t sitting right with me tbh. She’s kept a cool head and hasn’t lost her marbles like some of them. She’s owes the faithfuls nothing! She was randomly assigned a role amongst a game in which strangers signed up to lie and deceive to each other! Even the faithfuls do that to some extent if they keep their suspicions to themselves and try and fly under the radar!

Like she said - she has to think of her mum and kids when it comes to the cash! Even if she wanted to piss it all away on cocaine and flash cars, she still wouldn’t owe anyone with a ‘better’ sob story than her the opportunity to win thousands of pounds and she would be insane to act like she did. (And no doubt having 3 kids and a very unwell mother is expensive anyway!). They’ve all only known each other a couple of days anyway (apart from Ross who inexplicably knew someone for 15 years and someone else for four and a half, lolz).

Other thoughts from this evening:
Faraaz is both adorable and amusing, I do like how chill he came across. Jade’s story was really very sad. Stephen continues to slay with his fashion and facial expressions and I love him and really want him to win - even though I swear to god he said ‘I know I’m a tr-faithful’. James is a REALLY nice person and very polite but would make a dreadful traitor. Roxy is dumber than a box of rocks and needs to be taken to the final by the traitors and then chucked under the bus. I continue to say ‘who the fuck is that?’ every time Adam is on screen. Matty is an interesting one - I can’t really remember how the final all works. From Rachel and Stephen’s pov- Would it make sense to take jade, matty and Roxy to the final as they are so suspicious of each other and bin them off there? Or is there something I’m missing?

Adam is out 😂

Pinkbox · 16/01/2026 23:29

I am worried that Rachel has convinced Stephen to give her the dagger, saying she’ll use it to vote out whichever faithful is being piled on at that moment but will actually use her two votes to stab him in the back if the opportunity arises.

sorryIdidntmeanto · 16/01/2026 23:29

Well now no good faithfuls are left.
I cried at every one of those sob stories!
Poor Jade though. I don't think she needs the money most, but why is she putting herself through it? I hope people are nice to her.
I have no fave to win left.
Maybe James.

I’m hoping this is the case. Would make a great final.

I’d love Roxy to reveal she’s guessed who it is for a while and has deliberately played clueless and deceived to ensure they carry her to the final. Would silence all the people calling her stupid.

But they may well be genuinely hoodwinked. None of them have said they think they know who it is (but are keeping them close) in their ‘diary room’ VTs. Though Roxy obvs was on to Stephen. May have spoken to him directly to observe his reaction. Then protected herself from murder by declaring at RT she trusts him.

ImVotingForYourself · 16/01/2026 23:33

I thought Rachel and Stephen both looked incredibly nervous about the climbing out the box thing, but maybe it was editing.

Roxy has announced she is pregnant - could that be a hint that she wins money for IVF?

How does it work from here? There are 8 left; are there two more round tables and 1 more murder to go into a final with 5?
