Welcome to Thread 7 of Traitors 2026.

This thread runs at TV pace so do not read any further if you are not up to date with the live broadcast. Whilst most discussion will be on the current series, inevitably people will refer to previous series/players/winners so reader beware if you’ve not seen the 3 previous editions, or the celebrity version.

While we welcome posters discussing their theories and speculating on relationships/connections between players, please don’t post spoilers from elsewhere that may ruin things for those of us who like to see things unfold over the course of the series.

The story so far (as at end of Ep 6):

Traitors
Hugo
Rachel
Stephen
Fiona (Secret Traitor)

Murdered
Netty
Ben
Maz
Reece

Banished
Judy (Faithful)
Hugo (Traitor)
Ross (Faithful)
Amanda (Faithful)
Fiona (Traitor)

This thread is starting mid-way through Episode 7, so goodness only knows what is going to happen in the Round Table Showdown that is brewing.

The floor is yours…

I think it's like being bullied by the workplace bully. Management don't see, it's little and often so not enough to get the bully sacked. Ruins your day, every day.

Absolutely this. Rachel reminds me so much of someone I work with who’s a complete cow.

NewAgeNewMe · 15/01/2026 06:55

Currently I’d like Jade to win. Think she’s retreated into her shell a bit, after amanda going for her so much. Or it’s the editing. I’m generally Team Faithful.

YouWillNeverGuessMyUsername · 15/01/2026 06:58

Itwasallyellow2 · 14/01/2026 22:29

Agree. I think maybe she felt Rachel’s interests were being protected by the production team and she saw red when Rachel was one of the ‘smoke and mirrors’ trio. She might have felt that her and Matthew were being pitted against Rachel here and out of the three of them she was most likely to lose. It would be like your lying colleague being protected by the bosses at work while you, the honest one, gets thrown to the lions. She had seen Fiona go previously (traitor pitted against traitor) and now it’s her turn. I can relate to that.

The TV company want to make good television and I have no doubt that a few production manoeuvres have been implemented but only certain people would see through that manipulation while others (Roxy and Matthew for example) remain focused solely on themselves.

No. They can't and don't interfere. It's a highly regulated competition on the BBC it will be robust.

StillCreatingAName · 15/01/2026 07:00

I’ve decided Faraaz could be winning material too, but hardly has any screen time and then when he does appear, he contributes something intelligent in a funny way, but he’s really under the radar to us as viewers. I wonder if he was as quiet for filming and that’s why there’s not that much from him in episodes?

NewYearNewYouKitten · 15/01/2026 07:03

Something must have rattled Harriet's cage off-screen, perhaps producers wanted her to play something out in a way she didn't want to?

Interesting that she rebuffed Rachel's offer to talk but on Uncloaked she said words to the effect that she was worried about Rachel.

BlueLimes · 15/01/2026 07:03

And she’s so self important - all that gather round - I’ve news and the announcement recFBI training. What king of person thinks people are going to be impressed by that.

Rachel and Roxy need to go next.

Agreed. I can’t bear either of them. Roxy really is as thick as mince. I’m usually team traitor but am rooting for Jessie or Faraaz.

The slow clap was just insane behaviour, and the anger seemed strangely misplaced for a tv show where people are picked at random to lie to each other. That’s the point of the game. And then saying there was ‘possibly four or five’ traitors in the game was just madness.

Harriet is not as clever as she thinks, because she’s forgotten that it’s a game. If Claudia had tapped her on the shoulder she’d be in the turret murdering with the best of them! Other players, like lovely Alexander from last series, managed to use strategy and logic and articulation skills but also keep his sense of humour and a bit of rational detachment from the game. Harriet just lost the fucking plot. It’s interesting because I liked her novel Blood Orange but think everything she’s put out since then has been absolutely unreadable bollocks (I read a lot of thriller/horror novels). A bit like her game in the traitors - brilliantly took down Hugo and then pissed it all up the wall.

Well 5 traitors is hardly beyond the realms of possibilities.

There's already been 4!

EdithBond · 15/01/2026 07:08

Maggiethecat · 15/01/2026 00:57

Cos they’re not playing with their heads.
I would have taken a punt on her being faithful solely on how she brought Hugo down early on. I’ve not watched previous seasons but has there ever been a traitor bringing down a fellow traitor so early and if so how did it play out for them?

Not sure about that. It’s a game of survival. The aim is to stay in while others go.

Doesn’t really matter if they’re Faithful or Traitor. If Traitors are banished they recruit anyway. Sure, they feel bad banishing a wrongly-accused Faithful. But Harriet told them to banish her, so made it easy for them. Why banish someone else who wants to stay in? And Harriet could’ve been double-bluffing.

Even if I thought she was Faithful, I’d have voted her out. She seemed ready to go.

Yes they’re the only two I like - and the builder who looks like he’s stumbled in by mistake.

ThatCyanCat · 15/01/2026 07:11

I wonder if, being a novelist, a part of Harriet just wanted to make the story exciting and have stuff happen.

🤣 DH said ‘who’s that?’ (Sitting next to Harriet at breakfast) this many episodes in and he’s watched from the start.

pouletvous · 15/01/2026 07:13

Surely they will all look at Rachel next

Harriet was right to spot traitor on traitor action bet Fiona and Rachel. That is the closest “evidence” they’re ever going to get. Its that type of thing people need to look for

Haven’t they watched previous series?

I too want Faraaz to win.

I think it’s his game plan. It says in his profile:

One thing is it’s important not to be too boisterous at the start, because you can't win at the start. You can only lose. So, I think just keep some opinions and some cards close to your chest at the beginning and then observe everyone else whilst spreading little nuggets here and there but not making yourself the centre of attention straight away.

Five at this late stage of the game when they’ve already voted out two? Even if they had five to begin with they surely wouldn’t have been allowed to recruit

No. They can't and don't interfere. It's a highly regulated competition on the BBC it will be robust.

That’s what I would hope. However, although it may be robust in terms of process, it may not necessarily feel robust when participating especially if there is any in-fighting.

I work in an industry which is highly regulated and anyone would say is ‘robust’. Does it always feel robust? Absolutely not!

Do I have a lot of faith in the morals of TV production companies? No, probably not!

Exactly. 💯 agreed..

mopu · 15/01/2026 07:25

exciting episode. Harriet totally lost it! it felt like she was deliberately self sabotaging. Maybe she’d had enough and wanted to go back home? I loved Rachel’s red outfit; anyone know where it’s from?

Hobnobswantshernameback · 15/01/2026 07:27

They are in the castle for I believe three weeks dimes almost continuously.
We see three hours a week of that for four weeks
the edit is huge and sets the narrative
They are playing a game
dear god if it even crossed my mind that I'd want to have a go at this I probably wouldn't because I'd know my entire character would be decided and shredded by randoms online based on the narrative of a game decided by editors and a snapshot of my life.
This is mumsnet where people regularly tell people not to judge because they've "only witnessed a snapshot " of someone's life and here we are calling people bitches etc based on something that isn't even really real
Analyse the game play by all means but some of what is being said about these people on here makes me uncomfortable
Apologies for being a Debbie downer

I think Ellie wins it! Taps nose…She’s ex top public girls school in country, or one of them. Didn’t have her pegged as top 1 percent elite/privileged type. If scholarship very, very bright.

Edited

I agree, I think she’s taking it all in and figuring it out.
I also think the Harriet scenes were heavily edited and she was probably having to heavily defend herself against all the wallies that are blindly following Rachel.
I still can’t take to Rachel, and Roxy is really annoying me now as well.

Rachel and Roxy need to go next.

She knows nobody is going to be impressed by that, she told them simply because she wanted to feed them something, anything, that would take their attention away from Harriet. And in that moment it worked. Look at all the wide open mouths. Do people really react like that ? It would seem so on The Traitors and many other TV shows these days. Drives me nuts. Shut your bloody mouths and whilst your at it, cover your mouth when you are yawning. When did it become OK not to do so. Looks bloody awful.

cloudtreecarpet · 15/01/2026 07:44

Harriet definitely came across badly last night. I really disliked the strange, lumbering way she spoke and then her rude, overbearing attitude seemed unnecessary.

I think it was odd game play but was bourne out of a desire to get into the papers as an interesting "character" to sell her books. Her publishing agent probably suggested that creating drama & intrigue would make people think her books would be full of the same.
I'm that way her behaviour makes sense, in terms of the game it was a bit ridiculous.

I found it odd that she didn't reference Fiona's accusations against Rachel at all. Surely that was part of the "evidence" as an intense traitor on traitor fight?

And in reference to the clothes - she wore such colourful clothes on the show but was in muted grey & a different style on Uncloaked.
Rachel has done a great job of getting people to trust her "FBI" training or not

scissy · 15/01/2026 07:50

I reckon she did @cloudtreecarpet and it was edited out of the show. Last night it was even more obvious that the roundtable had been edited than normal.

I also think Harriet had had enough. She said as much on Uncloaked.

I agree until very near the end of the game there is no point trying to get traitors out too robustly in fact you don't want to be one of the people who was a threat to the traitors or you are likely to get murdered. If they banish all or most of the traitors new ones just get added so the key is to just look and observe and have some confidence in who you think the traitors are by the time you are at the end game.

Jessie’s all over everyone. James lives near me, I’m sure they’re not a couple.

Jessie seems very affectionate with most of the contestants.

When Harriet left the round table, Harriet placed a hand on her shoulder and Jessie gave it a squeeze. She seemed sad that she left, and I'm glad she told Roxy to shut up shortly afterwards.
