La voix on it takes 2 makes sense - see how she is presenting. I think she’s fun and witty

He's male. A man.
A man who is insulting women by his adoption of womanface.

If he was presenting SCD or ITT, he'd be referred to as female on there. And he isn't.

The BBC have been captured.

sittingonabeach · 22/12/2025 10:51

When does La Voix become she, because out of costume they are he? Which bit of the costume makes them she. I like their humour but do they have to be a caricature of a woman to do that?

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 22/12/2025 11:07

La Voix won’t get it and neither will Fleur or Jeanette, they are all too minor. Getting bored of nonsense suggestions. I’ll have to eat my hat if I’m wrong but IMO we are looking at Alan Carr/Zoe Ball level of talent for Strictly presenting not z listers!

To be fair Claudia wasn't particularly famous when she got "promoted" to the upstairs i mean she was well known but probably not just as z list as everyone else that has been mentioned

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 22/12/2025 11:22

She was a natural choice because she knew the ropes from doing ITT which is probably why a lot of people ARE saying Fleur, but people LIKED Claude everyone says that Fleur is crap and they don’t watch because of her.

I'd be fascinated to know what all the presenters think of having to refer to him as a woman. Surely some of the judges, Tess, Claudia, Jeanette, Fleur, the dancers can't all be on board with this nonsense but are nevertheless forced to say it.

LaVoix is a fictional character which is in large part why I found the inclusion bizarre. If Richard Wilson had participated as Victor Meldrew or Alex Kingston as River Song the reaction would have been WTF? rather than “ooh how edgy and cool”.

Chris as Chris would have been much more interesting and as I mentioned on the graveyard thread - in interviews he expressed a desire to be better known as “Chris" by doing Strictly. He is witty, has good timing and I can see why he wants to expand beyond the one role, he also seemed to genuinely love the show. His wit is not tied to the character as we saw in a few of the training vids. As Chris I’d be interested in seeing more of him on ITT or similar but the notion of a fictional character in an interviewing role is not something I’d be interested in.

Coffeeishot · 22/12/2025 12:48

La voix is like lilly savage or Edna everage. It isn't the same as River Song or Victor Meldrew

I don’t agree - LaVoix the character is simply better known than Chris the comedy performer.
Edna Everage (and Sir Les) were always listed in credits as Barry Humphreys (and usually introduced that way unless Humphreys was there as a character interviewee). Lily Savage first became known as the character but again was in credits as Paul O’Grady and rapidly became better known as Paul as he expanded his repertoire and became a good general TV host.

I assumed from Chris’s interviews that Paul’s was the path he was trying to follow - a move into more general TV performing and presenting. That can’t happen if he is locked into appearing as LaVoix and I think that is a shame. I really don’t see any difference between appearing as LaVoix and appearing as any other long running character who is better known by their main character name than actor’s name.

Coffeeishot · 22/12/2025 12:57

You can disagree i dont agree with your explanation either so we would just go around the houses.

Otterdrunk · 22/12/2025 13:01

Papers and websites are full of click bait headlines purporting to know who the new presenter of Strictly is & none of them are true! So def won’t be Lavoix. Plus it’s become a bit of a thing now to declare that you’re not the presenter as Angela Scanlon, Alison Hammond & Amanda Holden & others have done. Which the media are equally treating as headline worthy! Wonder when it will be revealed though? I wonder how long they’ve actually had to find replacements to Tess & Claudia who (so the papers say) were forced to announce their departure before it got leaked.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 22/12/2025 13:05

The BBC is on record as having said that it won’t be looked at til the New Year but that a lot of people have put their hat in the ring so far.

That’s what I was thinking; she was way much less of a name then than she is now. I wonder if it’ll be one huge household name and one on the lower rungs of their career ladder? A bit like the start of Strictly when Bruce was paired with Tess.

Buscobel · 22/12/2025 15:40

I prefer Fleur on ITT, but I’m told that Janette is very good as a presenter on the live tour.

Coffeeishot · 22/12/2025 15:57

I always thought they should do a ITT winners special on the Monday.

I know, it's so anticlimactic, isn't it? And the runners-up never get to say anything about their final experience either.

I agree they could just do a one off.

All lovies, especially BBC ones, are quite happy to call La Voix she.Theyre all captured. Even Grace Dent, whom I used to think was quite sensible, was fawning all over the drag queen on Celebrity Masterchef. As I keep saying, if it's just a persona, appear as yourself or its a fetish.

I've seen her. She was brilliant. The judges were much more saucy too and really funny.

OhDear111 · 22/12/2025 19:51

@Bluffinwithmymuffin Claudia had done quite a lot of tv though. She wasn’t an unknown to tv executives. She was obviously seen as capable and that was clearly a good decision. I do have a feeling someone black or brown will get one of the jobs.

totally
its the biggest show on telly and it’s live tv so it’s got to be people that can do live tv. Although I do find Tess slightly dull she always nailed it from a professionalism pov.

Bradley Walsh has been mentioned too and was gave a very evasive answer when asked the other day. Zoe is surely in contention. I wonder about Alison Hammond but doing it alongside this morning would be doable but hardcore.

WarrenTofficier · 22/12/2025 10:03

A new audience that would see it shift in the same direction as Eurovision? I.e. way too sleezy for cozy family viewing.

I don’t think there is anything sleazy about Chris’s brand of drag.

Holluschickie · 23/12/2025 07:14

It most definitely won't be La Voix- not important enough- so immaterial really. Papers just stirring.

sittingonabeach · 23/12/2025 09:42

There was a drag King on Bake off but they came as themselves not as a persona, so why do Drag Queens have to?

Because they're men, and men generally change the rules to suit themselves. Especially when they are pretending to be women.
