Karen's accent confuses me. She declares she's a proud Brummie with a Cockney/ Essex twang.

What about Motsi as host?

Irrespective of who takes part in the final or who wins, I always feel sad when Strictly finishes. It feels like a big full stop and the end of the year. I feel the same after the Wimbledon final too and as if the summer is over (when actually it's barely begun).

I was trying to work out on the other thread (blissfully posting into the void as this one had started) what it is that doesn’t work for me about Amber and I think possibly its the inverse of one the features I like about Karen.

Karen is quieter and more understated in interviews and reacting whereas Amber over reacts to everything and I’m wondering if she hasn’t yet learned to adjust her acting for TV from the stage. I find that over acting turns me off and possibly its why I’ve not warmed to her (and I don’t see the chemistry in the couple, despite both being great dancers).

Anyways, she won’t win but the judges are gushing for the Olympics.

This. Some people are just dragging it down for no reason other than to make themselves look superior. Yes, some presenters get paid a lot - but htey bring in the audiences so they are worth it to the broadcaster. Get over it.

Bit behind but I was disappointed by all the show dances - they were all just OK. I was especially disappointed with Karen’s - I love that Texas song so was really looking forward to it but they just ruined the song turning it into a dance version and I’m not a fan of street dance anyway so didn’t really like the dance. She could have done something lovely to the proper version of the song.

She sounds Brummie to me but she played for Arsenal and Chelsea so imagine she would have moved for work during that time.
